Description: One of the most legendary alpine huts in Austria on sunny 1300m high above Bad Gastein, directly at the slope of the Stubnerkogel ski run and for decades a popular meeting place and known for its hospitality. In the rustic lodge with stunning flair and a large, open fire place traditional delicacies from the Austrian kitchen, fondue and other delicacies are served. At the end of a long day's skiing or for a break in between a stop-off in the heated umbrella bar next to the Bellevue Alm is recommended with a lot of fun, humor and cool drinks. Head up to the Bellevue Alm summit Station on our private chair lift. Once you have reached the top, you can toboggan back into the valley on the perfectly prepared Toboggan run (ca. 2.5 km. A special experience: a toboggan ride in the evening on the floodlit run! The Bellevue Alm guest house offers 12 guest rooms with shower / WC, TV, WIFI and some with balcony. Enjoy romantic sunrises and sunsets with stunning mountain views, high up with views of Bad Gastein. Pure nature! For all hotel guests the use of the beautiful old wood-sauna with relaxation zone in the opposite Schiefe Alm is free. Likewise, our guests may use the spa facilities in our 4-star MONDI-HOLIDAY first class Aparthotel Bellevue in the valley for free. Getting there: You can reach us in the summer on a private road (by foot about 20 minutes away from the station), in winter only with our private chair lift.

Generous portions and fine meat in a genuine atmosphere. I just love the chair lift.

Had a nice gullash soup doing skiing here. The place is cosy and good for that purpose. Not sure if this should be considered a good place for dinning though. Please consider.

This was a huge disappointment. We wanted to go for fondue and Bellevue Alm was recommended to us. The restaurant's website mentions a private chair lift but does not say there is an extra charge for it which I think it should mention. The fee was fine, it's a private lift, but more infomation is always better. The evening began poorly when the man operating the lift started shouting at us about the price of the lift. The sign was only in German and a bit confusing because you can take the lift up and a toboggan down or take the lift up and back down and the pricing wasn't clear. The lift operator was so beligerent and aggressive, we almost left. His behaviour upset the couple in front of us and they did leave and didn't go to the restaurant.

Once at the restaurant, the staff at the bar and the hostess stand ignored us. There were other patrons coming in and no one showing people to their tables. We had booked a table and after being ignored by three staff whom we had asked, a fourth finally showed us to our table. We had pre-ordered the fondue so we only had to order the drinks. We ordered a bottle of wine. About 15 minutes later, our server came back and said, they were out of that wine, what else did we want. We asked what they had and she said she would bring a menu. She returned 10 minutes later without the menu and asked what we wanted. We told her we were waiting for the menu which she did bring. Our meat, chips and sauces arrived and we were told the bread and salad were on their way. About halfway through the meal, my fiance got up to ask about the salad and bread. A different server came over to the table and pointed at the food and said it's there and looked embarrassed when she realised it wasn't. The table next to us offered us their bread and finally our bread and salad arrived. Both tables next to us had dreadful service as well. The one that offered the bread had to order more wine 3 times before it arrived and the other table waited about 50 minutes with 3 small children to receive their meal. The father was brought the wrong dish and the mother didn't receive her food at all and the server had to ask what she ordered. They finally got the correct dishes and served everyone.

The food was good but the service was spectacularly poor so it is not somewhere I would return or recommend

Whilst the restaurant is good, food is very nice and it is very pretty inside and out, the undoubted highlight is the trip up (on a one man chair lift) and definitely the sledge ride home through 2-3km of winding, snowy tracks.

Definitely made funnier after a few bottles of wine and highly recommended.
