It's not a typical restaurant, it's a farm, they're open as a restaurant only for two months, July 10 - Sep 10, and you must go there! You'll be treated like a family and, of course, you will have the best traditional French home cooked meal ever.

You will be hard pushed to find a better more traditional French home cooked meal than this place. Five of us had a set menu starting with vegetable soup, followed by patè, then amazing steak with equally amazing potatoes and finished with a nice piece of cake. Two minor drawbacks which stopped 5* are the service was super slow and it's not the most toddler friendly place we have been to in the area but it did have a high chair. Would 100% visit again without the children. But that could be said for everywhere I go!!

The entire evening was fantastic. The atmosphere was wonderful, sat in the courtyard whilst being served by the French family. The food was a traditional menu which tasted amazing! The wine was good and the price for the overall meal was great value for money- far cheaper than most other restaurants in the area. The family hosted everyone so well, with the father joining us at the table at the end to share the story of the farm and restaurant. The steak and confit duck leg were superb and accompanied by goose fat roasted potatoes, which were delightful.

Highly recommended.

Found this place through friends who said it was everything you would expect of a rural, family run excellent place to eat. Superb is all I can say, a delightful setting outside in the courtyard where we feasted on what the dish of the day was. All I can say is that i had the best steak that I have had in France - say no more! Well worth the visit but don't tell too many people!!!

Tried this gem of a family-run affair with our children during our holiday in Cenac. Booking highly recommended. Food great but you need to allow plenty of time to enjoy the whole unhurried atmosphere and food. if you do not have the whole evening this is not the place for you. had the 25 Euro menu starter veg soup which was so tasty everyone had seconds ( bowl on the table so you help yourself ) followed by salad with pate then steak or duck with potatoes fried in garlic and goose fat and herbs- best I have ever had. Home made liqueurs aperitifs also outstanding. Jug of wine and fresh apple juice for the kids were also great. then came fresh jogurt type course which was pleasant, followed by home made cake and fruit flan and coffee . sat at shared table under the trees lit with lights with some others which was really nice after the initial awkward few minutes. the owner-restaurateurs are characterful and funny and come out to chat whilst serving but you may be told off if your plate is not emptied!
if you want to sample true local fare in an unpretentious setting and enjoy an evening a la famille 1950's style go to La Borie
