“Well worth the price”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2012

Alberobello is a unique town. Surrounded by Trulli, we felt like we were staying in a fantasy town, waiting for the Seven Dwarfs to come home from the mine. We spent two nights at Le Alcove which is located on Piazza Ferdinando, the city center. We were within steps of fabulous restaurants and the Trulli district. A convenient location to say the least. We stayed in "Il Sognatore," a beautifully refurbished Trulli. The accomodations were superb and well appointed. The staff were very assesible, delightful to work with and very helpful. The breakfast area and food were outstanding. Some reviews call it overpriced, but I think it's worth the splurge. How often will you get to Alberobello? How often will you get sleep in a Trulli?

Room Tip: "Il Sognatore" is a junior suite with two additional beds in a loft.

We stayed five nights at the le Alcove on our trip through Puglia. We love to stay at places that are real special, and the stay at a Trulli was really a great experience! Rooms, service, decoration and facilities are all really great, unique and impeccable. But 250 EUR for B&B in a mini suite are overpriced if compared to what you pay at other great places in Puglia.

Alberobello is a really amazing place to visit. Le Alcove is smack bang in the middle of town and an easy walking distance to everything. It is a short walk from the main sights of the masses of trulli and also has easy access to all amenities.
The trulli at Le Alcove have been beautifully renovated and are appointed with style and class. The staff are super attentive and go out of their way to help. They are truly lovely. I am very glad to have stayed in a trullo. It was a bit of a treat and a unique experience. The room I stayed in was lovely but I must admit I was surpised at the small size. It was quite a squeeze with only a narrow space either side of the bed.
In town you do get a chance to see inside a multitude of trulli in the shops and restaurants but it was nice to have one of my own for my 2 nights there.
I really enjoyed the breakfast too. The coffee was lovely.
All in all I felt very well looked after during my stay at Le Alcove and I am glad to have experienced the trulli of Puglia.

Room Tip: Go for one of the larger rooms if possible

A trip to Alberobello will not be complete without a stay in one of the mythical trullis. We only stayed a night in one of the suites but were accommodated so well. We arrived in the night, in the middle of a church feast hence parking spaces were hard to come by. We were impressed by the son of the owner as he reserved a spot for us - by parking his car in the space so that he could vacate it for us when we arrived. They went the extra mile which is so rare and much appreciated by us. We stayed in a spacious trullo with a luxurious bathroom with a second storey where the spare beds are located. Bathroom amenities, towels, complimentary in-room drinks and snacks were generous and plentiful. The owner's son also walked us to a restaurant on the other side of town to make sure we were ok in finding it. Breakfast was set in a semi outdoor room behind reception. It was elegantly presented in all white deco and it felt like you are sitting in a midst of the trullis but protected from weather elements. Loved the Illy coffee and professional barista. What a great last minute find and a stay that we will never forget in such a quaint and cute town.

We stayed for 14 nights at Le Alcove as it was ideally situated to see all of Puglia. From the moment we stepped in to Le Alcove from the bustling square full of tourists on a hot Saturday afternoon we were transported in to an oasis of calm, cool, chic relaxation with service that was second to none for the entire 14 days.
Staying inside a trullo was a unique experience and something that we will never forget - our room was personally designed by the owners in a very elegant and sympathetic manner.
The 'treats' that arrive in your room (fresh fruit after a long day sightseeing and cakes and desserts on an evening - plus a complimentary non alcoholic mini bar) really make you feel special. The breakfast has so much choice and is taken in a lovely bright room/patio.
Le Alcove is immaculately clean with an almost constant change of towels and bed linen.
The two receptionists (both called Katya) could not have been more friendly and helpful dealing with all of our requests professionally but with a permanent smile.
We would classify Le Alcove more as a boutique hotel than a B&B and would have no hesitation in recommending it from a one night stay to fourteen!
There are plenty of good restaurants in Alberobello. Our favourites were :-
1.La Poeta Contadina - but keep for a special occasion
2.Fluflums - off the beaten track but well worth finding
3.La Cantina - where you watch the chef create! but you will need to book.

We had a nice overnight stay. Centrally located and all the sights were easily within walking distance. The hotel was extremely clean and beautifully decorated. The bathroom fixtures were exceptional and we really enjoyed the massage tub. Breakfast was standard European that you'll find at most hotels. The staff recommended some great restaurants and were especially helpful parking our car.
