Stayed in apartment 3 for a week in September. Perfect space for 2 couples. The outside patio is lovely for relaxing and dining. The swimming pool is a great size and we often had it to ourselves.
Leonardo is a great host, very welcoming and accommodating.
Would love to return with a larger group and stay in the main villa which is beautiful.

Eight friends from U.S. and Australia stayed for a week at this wonderful villa. 5 bedrooms each with ensuite bathroom which is a huge plus. Large kitchen and family room with fireplace that we used each night. Beautiful grounds and lots of options for our morning walks. Great home base location to explore the surrounding hill towns and historic sites. Fantastic stay, can't wait to go back.

Reaching the villa through the windy roads of Tuscany we instantly felt welcomed by Leonardo, our gracious host for the week as well as a generational family member of the property. Every part our time at this charming villa was more than we could expect. Leonardo guided us to some exceptional wineries and places to eat locally that allowed us to explore the best parts of the surrounding area. The property can't be described in words and the sunrises in the morning are greeted by the crowing of roosters from the farm nearby and the setting sun finds owls welcoming the night. Thank you Leonardo for allowing us a brief time at Castellaccio. Tyler & Amanda.

If you are looking for a place for your Tuscany trip, this is a place I can definitely recommend. I've been here back in 2012 and decided to come back this year. For the last four years I had visited several houses round Tuscany and Marche. This one is definitely the best one I had been to. Appartments are spacious and well equipped. There is a good wifi coverage. And the owner, Leonardo is super helpful when it comes to organising your stay. You can taste a good Chianti Classico from a local winery. There are few dining options around with a nice pizzeria in Lucolena that I can definitely recommend. On the other hand if you would like to make your own pizza there is a wood oven with full instruction. Castelaccio has 2 pools the smaller one belongs to one of the apartments and the larger one is fully accessible to the rest of visitors. So if you are looking for a place, in the middle of nature, beautiful, but very comfortable - this is it!

We were a group of 10 people (all family members) and we spent a week in the villa.
The property is wonderful and even though the surrounding apartments were occupied during our stay it did not affect us in the villa. The villa is really spacious and all bedrooms have a bathroom en suite. The pool was an added bonus as the summer days can be really hot! The villa was clean and is equipped with everything a group would need. There is also a pizza oven in the communal bbq room on the property and we made use of this on our last night which was great fun! Leonardo the owner is fantastic and really helpful. He also took us on a little tour and explained the history of the property. The town of Lucolena where the villa is located has a great shop which stocks everything from bread to gourmet cat food! There are bigger towns about half an hour drive from Lucolena with supermarkets and we found the location of the villa was great! We had a wonderful stay at Villa il Castellaccio and we hope to return again in the future.
