Due to time limitations in Florence, we were unable to check out Nerbone in the Mercato Centrale. We consoled ourselves because of Nerbone di Greve. It's a little confusing to find because the sign over the door says "La Terrazza oli Osteria but we were assured that we were indeed at Nerbone! We had checked the reviews on Trip Advisor before going and thought the comments were not that good so perhaps not but then thought "why not go." It was a nice warm afternoon so the upstairs outdoor patio was just the thing! We had a nice bottle of rose and shared a very tasty antipasti of salami, and marinated veggies. Our second courses of linguine with crab and asparagus and penne with fresh artichokes and gorgonzola dolce were excellent...to finish, shared fresh strawberries and a cup of mascarpone crème with mosto cotto, meant to be eaten separately, we couldn't help but have the two together, wonderful! The pace is meant to be leisurely and not designed for quick dining and the service reflects this philosophy. We would highly recommend La Terrazza/Nerbone from this experience.

After reading the other reviews about the long waits for the food to arrive, I had to also comment on my meal last summer. We ate twice at the restaurant as the setting on the piazza is lovely. We always order a normal Italian meal with appetizer, primo, and secondo. In other words we dont go out to save money. The quality of the salumi was not as good as it should be for the area, crostini ok. The first night the trippa was really off and my husband didnt touch it as it smelled. The second time we ate at nerbone we waited almost an hour after our primi for two bolito Misti which arrived half frozen in little metal pots. No flavor and this is one of the specialities of the restaurant! Very strange goings on in the kitchen! We used to live near by and know that you shouldnt be treated as long lost family by the servers, but the service was unattentive and a bit surly.

In September 2013, we stayed for one week in the Chianti area, where we have been going every year for more than forty years ! We decided for once to try the Narbone, well seated on the flanks ot the most beautiful greve triangular Place ! In the evening, the temperature having slightly dropped, we were able to find a table for two on the charming 1st floor terrace. Then it sarted going from bad to worse ! We had to wait for a very, very long time just for someone to come and ask us what we wanted...! Having chosen a rather simple meal, it took the ONLY waiter almost one hour to serve us ! It was the same for the other customers ! The quality of the food was decent, not exceptional, and my wife's was almost cold...! The price paid was not up to the standards we were expecting...! And it took almost as long to be able to pay ! The problem was mainly a too small kitchen and not enough waiters ! We won't ever try it again, and if you are thinking of joining the party, don't !

We ate here based on the recommendation of the Agristurismo we were staying at. We got into town around 715 and were not ready to eat yet so we easily made a reservation for 8p. When we came back we were seated quickly at in inside table (per our request). We felt the staff was attentive for us. In have seen some reviews about inattentive staff here and other places, but in Italy the servers do not check on you as much as in the US. That's just how it is. If you need someone you just flag them down and they will come take care of you. The wine we ordered was one made by our Agriturismo we were staying at and the price was very good as was the taste. As is customary we orders our appetizers, first, and second courses all at the same time. They were also accommodating to my wifes need for a gluten free meal. The appetizers and meals were all very good as was the desserts we ordered. This was a great dining experience and I noticed a lot of locals eating here that the staff seemed to know so I took that to mean they were repeat customers. I would definitely recommend eating here if in Greve.

We waited over an hour for our starters to come out. Thereafter we waited another hour (2 hours in total) and no sign of our main course. We and 2 other tables got up and walked out, paying for our starters on the way. No feedback from staff why the food was so slow in coming - terrible service!
