The main problem with this is the accessability. Coming off the main road you face 2.5km of bumpy, rocky and mountainous track that is in no way appropriate for a car that doesn't have 4 wheel drive. Also, if you are using a hire car, there is a high risk of scratching it or gaining a puncture.

If you dare not face the perrel of driving into town, you are saved by a track that is about a 1km walk straight into Greve in Chianti. However, this is as steep and as rough as the track you just drove on, and walking back up it can take 30 mins+. I wouldn't recommend using this to walk into town if you are elderly, as it is very tiring.

The view from the villa is outstanding, and is higher than most of the surrouding villas. The pool is not too big nor too small, and the view from it is also outstanding. The pool is surrounded by ample deck chairs and shaded areas, as well as sun loungers.

Inside our apartment, the bedrooms had ceiling fans, so it was never too hot, and dining/kitchen/living room was quite large. Outside, there is plenty of places to sit and eat a meal, and a BBQ. The housekeeper was perfectly friendly, and met us on arrival, althought I'm not sure if that was simply a coincidence. He is always around if there is a problem.

The fact that it is so difficult to get to this property without possibly damaging your vehicle puts me off coming back here.

We stayed in La Chisetta-- one should bring one's own groceries and the kitchen is simply equipped for basic meals. The building is the old compound chapel and it's full of charm and the views all around are breathtaking, not to mention the luxury of cooling off in your own private pool! Would absolutely recommend and would stay again. Incredibly beautiful and romantic.

We were blown away on our recent trip to Tuscany with this lovely property. Perfect for a group of 4 as we had 2 adjoining bedrooms. The views are spectacular, perfect after a full day hitting the wineries.

Tables and chairs outside the rooms to view the valleys below. There is a path that leads down to Greve, about a 10 minute walk down, maybe 20 back up.

Only has one entrance with a long gravel driveway. Not bad as long as you are driving around during the daytime and make one trip out, and then come back and walk down to Greve for dinner.

Staff is awesome. Make sure to look at the photos inside the office to see what the property looked like before it was fixed up.

We had separate house on top of the hill - Old Capella! View from here amazing on all directions! Vine yards, olive trees etc. Typical Tuscany landscape!
You can walk from here to different directions, visit different small villages and have a meal in small restaurants. But you can also stay here and just relax, swim in a private pull or lay on sunbath chair!
As this property stands on top of the mountain, here you can come only using gravel roads, but they are normal country roads, if you have experience driving in countryside, than no problems with roads. But anyway - follow owners guidance, and you will come safe to this fantastic location!
Thank you once more for your nice Castello!

Room Tip: Best view!

Fantastic location in the Chianti countryside, with stunning views on all sides. Our room/apartment was a very generous size. We also got Marco to take us on a wine-tasting tour which was great fun.

A couple of things to note: They will send you a warning about not following your GPS- listed to what they say!! The road to Greve is very steep and not suitable for a normal car, you would need a 4x4, so you have to go round the other side. It is walkable, fine on the way down but a bit of a slog on the way back up. I guess that's the price you pay for the scenery!
