The Parador is located in a beautifully renovated palace in Ubeda. Prime location downtown, with easy access to all sightseeing. Very pleasant team, very helpful. Breakfast limited due to Covid19 restrictions, still just average for a hotel of this class.

Junior Suite 134 is truly spectacular, with acess to a beautiful patio.

We'll stay there again next time in Ubeda.

We have visited Ubeda several times, but this was our second stay at the beautiful Parador Condestable Davalos, a converted 16th c. mansion located in the renaissance heart of the town. All of the major historical sights are in easy walking distance, as is the potters' quarter and the more modern shopping streets around Plaza de Andalucia.

Those arriving by car should note that they are only allowed to enter the Plaza de Vazquez Molina to drop-off/pick-up passengers and luggage only, but not to park. Fortunately, free parking is usually available in the nearby Redonda de Miradores, about 5/10 mins. walk from the Parador.

Guests with mobility issues should note that access to the building is via a flight of stairs and it may be wise to request a room on the ground-floor (off the central covered patio) as there is no lift to the upper-floors.

Given that this is a converted historical mansion, rooms are not a standard size or shape so it's something of a lottery, but we were very pleased with our room (better than our first visit!) which consisted of a small seating area with ample storage space for luggage and clothes with a large and well-equipped bathroom leading off, and a few steps leading up to a separate large bedroom. Facilities included a TV, good air-conditioning, a mini-bar (but only 1 beer and no spirits or wine!) and free Wi-Fi. Decor was tasteful and traditional, in keeping with the building.

The Parador facilities include an atmospheric indoor bar with small exterior courtyard, although the latter was too hot to enjoy until night-time. I have reviewed the excellent restaurant separately. Sadly, those expecting a swimming pool or gardens will be disappointed, but the building and it's setting don't allow for these.

In summary, we have stayed at other good Hotels in Ubeda, but this is undoubtedly the best if the budget allows.

Wow! 16th Century Palce located in a delightful square. The building is an amazing piece of Resaissance architecrure. This stunning architecture continues inside with a beautiful central courtyard with a glased roof. However the soft furnishing are far from lavish and are more cosy and comfortable but this works. Very relaxing. Quite romantic. High ceilings. The superior rooms have four poster beds- first time I have seen a single four poster ! Only around 40 bedrooms so it is quite an intimate experience staying here. Bedrooms are a good size. Ensuite bathrooms little dated but have everything you will need. The dining room has a wooden beamed ceiling and offers tradition fayre. The red peppers stuffed with partridge were beautiful efficent and friendly staff. A great place to stay when exploring Ùbeda and nearby Baeza. Parking available.

We'd had to postpone our stay here in May because of Lockdown. However our disappointment turned to delight when we eventually arrived. It is a lovely historic building, tastefully renovated in true local style. The room was comfortable and the temperature good in the summer heat. The restaurant was the real surprise. Really good food and large portions for dinner. The Morcilla starter was to die for...a completely new way of serving it ( in our experience anyway)as it was served a bit like pulled pork. Safeguards for Covid had been taken meticulously, including individual tongs at your breakfast table, to help you select your choice from the buffet table. There was a choice of some cooked food for breakfast but it was limited. My husband asked for churros and although they were good there was no chocolate to dip them in and no sugar either. There were countless cakes and breads for breakfast and sadly after two days, I thought it a bit "samey" and uninspired. If breakfast had been better it would have been a five star review though. Úbeda itself is small and easy to explore by foot. A really interesting place for those who like history, especially Renaissance architecture. Baeza nearby us smaller still but we'll worth a visit. A two day stay is ample to explore both.

On your next visit to a Parador, ask for chocolate at breakfast, so you can dip the churros. There is always chocolate available.

This historic building, which was formerly a palace, was the perfect place to stay in the charming town of Ubeda. Though my wife and I only stayed in Parador de Ubeda one night, we absolutely fell in love with this magnificent building that was converted into a very impressive hotel. I always find a hotel experience to be unique, charming and quiet special when guests are provided actual keys to enter their room as was the case with Parador de Ubeda.

There is no parking adjacent to this Parador; guests must take a relatively short walk from approximately two blocks away to meet their car, bus or whatever transportation they are relying on. The walk is well worth it! The Parador is large with large rooms and an old world charm. Upon entering the hotel by the large, arched entrance, there is a almost cavernous, open, two story seating area with the reception area in a room to the left. The staff warmly greeted us, collected our luggage to take to our room and then provided us the key to our room; check in went very smoothly.

Our room was on the first floor, Room 135. The room itself was spacious with wood appointments and a comfortable bed. The bathroom was also spacious with updated fixtures and was spotlessly clean. However, the highlight of the room for me was the amazing open courtyard that was adjacent to our room. We had our own private seating as well as a fountain and lovely garden. We very much enjoyed relaxing in the courtyard before we headed to the Parador’s restaurant for dinner.

When I return to Spain, I will make it a point to return to Ubeda and spend more time in this amazing hotel!
