We ended up at this hotel by chance seven years ago, looking for simple accomodation in the best spot for mountain walking. What we thought would be a humble B&B turned out to be an absolute gem. A tiny, gorgeous hotel in what must be the most beautiful location on the island. Also an ideal spot for any level of walking with such diverse scenery as lemon and orange groves, gardens and villages, terrassed olive groves, sleepy sheep, rugged mountains with all sorts of wildlife and even the pebbled beaches on the nearby coast. The terrace and garden at the back of the hotel are lovely for afternoon relaxing in the sun after a day in the mountains. Breakfast is fantastic and offers all you can wish for, even by scandinavian standards of rustic brown bread, yoghurt, müsli and fruit.

This is a family run hotel with a homely atmorphere. If you are looking for 24 h reception, flatscreen tv and room service, please go somewhere else. The friendly hosts although, will go at lengts to try to arrange anything you might wish for, and can help with bookings and walking tips, or afternoon tea in the garden. The village does not offer loud nightlife or roaring mopeds, but a selection of nice traditional mallorcan restaurants and one or two bars for a late drink.

After our first visit we cant imagine staying anywhere else in the Tramuntana mountains and have become regular guests for 6 years.

There are so many wonderful places to visit, but just this once we have returned again to this charming little hotel in the peaceful mountains of Mallorca. Not only is the building so full of character, but the setting is so beautiful. The staff are exceptionally helpful and cater, for example, with my wife's need for a gluten free diet with every curtesy and care. It's a great place to stay, and the best in Fornalutx, whether you want to laze around or go on some fairly strenuous walks. i cannot imagine anyone being disappointed.

Spent a very relaxing 5 days in Ca'n Reus at the end of August. Had stayed before while on an InnTravel walking holiday and it certainly was one of the more memorable hotels I've ever stayed in. Small and perfectly formed, each room is individually decorated and is very comfortable. My room faced onto the street and I was delighted that it was so quiet.
As others have mentioned the breakfasts are truly memorable - the freshest ingredients cooked simply (eg asparagus with parmesan cheese) and local delicacies always form part of the fabulous spread. Communal areas are comfortable - there's a lovely lounge with a huge selection of books to choose from should you be low on reading material. Outside, breakfast is eaten on a terrace that must have one of the best mountain views in Mallorca - it's stunning! Often the only sounds heard are the tinkle of a cowbell and the local rooster making his presence felt - utterly charming. The little garden is home to a lovely little swimming pool which is surrounded by lime and orange trees. Sue, Nick and the team are perfect hosts and very helpful. Sue and Nick are both avid walkers and are happy to discuss walking options nearby and further afield. They even offered to take me out on a walk - unfortunately the heat put pay to that idea! But I did do a solo walk on one of the cooler days (35 degrees!) down to Porto Soller, which is definitely worth a visit.
It's fair to say that Ca'n Reus is one of my favourite places to stay and I can't wait to return!

We spent a fantastic weekend together with our closest relatives (11 people in total) at Ca'n Reus in october of last year. We saw most of the rooms, and they all have their individual charm, but we really recommend the rooms facing the valley and mountains. The view from the terrace and garden area is outstanding. The owners are really friendly, but what really impressed us was the staff and the service they provided. Breakfast is, by the way, really good. The village of Fornalutx is spectacular, so don't miss out on a hike in the area. We arrived in a rental car, something we really recommend so that you can explore the suroundings. Soller is a gem! We are definitely aiming for returning to Ca'n Reus sooner or later!

My husband and I stayed here for a week and couldn't fault the place. The rooms are lovely, full of character and well maintained by the staff. The mountain setting is amazing and the hotel garden and pool is peaceful and very pretty. The breakfasts are massive and breakfast is really an understatement as you pretty much get 3 courses set out in a buffet style which varied on a daily basis. I'd highly recommend the village and hotel to anyone who wants to relax and has a car to get out and about to beaches and the port in puerto soller - another nice spot with lots of restaurants. There are lots of mountain walks to do too so if you're looking to spend time rambling I wouldn't go in August as it's pretty damn hot, makes for a nice tan though!

Room Tip: Ask for garden/mountain facing but you'll pay more for this.

Small family-run hotel surrounded by magnificent scenery with terrific food and a warm welcome. Great walks and interesting expeditions laid on - if you don't just want to relax on the terrace by the pool.

We've stayed here twice: in September 2010, and January 2011 for the Olive weekend. Both trips were delightful. In September we were able to use the charming pool, and to have the excellent breakfasts on the terrace. We loved the characterful, unspoilt Mallorcan house, and appreciated Sue and Nick's hospitality, advice and general concern for residents. Fornalutz itself is a very pretty town. Local restaurants are good, and the walking from the house is magnificent.
We returned for the Olive Odyssey weekend in January. It was great fun, from picking olives to watching olive pressing at a local mill. We also had a fascinating cookery demo in Palma, and walking in magnificent countryside. This time there were lovely log fires, and some excellent home cooking included.
Don't go to Ca'n Reus if you want sanitised 5 star facilities. Do go if you want atmosphere, character and a memorable holiday.
