“Hit and miss with the location”
Reviewed 23 January 2012

Went in June 2011 with my Wife my Daughter her Husband and my two Grandkids we had Two rooms we as this was the cheapest way to get two free child places The Hotel is right in the middle 3Km to Cambrills and 3Km to Salou so with a 5 & 7 year old it was to far to walk to either one so had to catch the bus which over the week worked out quite expensive because the kids had to pay full fare, found out on my return that they do some sort pass that you buy so many trips lets say 40 and this is a lot cheaper than paying on the bus if at theend of your Holiday you had 5 trips left theywill buy them back off you so you dont lose out.The Hotel is very clean and well maintained the food was not the best that i have had for a four star Hotel but you could generally get something to eat. The pool area is great with a pool bar etc and their was plenty of sunbeds to go round we used to go to the beach which is just over the road in the morning then went back to the room for lunch just to give the kids a break out of the mid day sun and when we went down to the pool we easily got 6 sunbeds. Around the Hotel their is not much to do at night except pop into another Hotel to see what entertainment they had on but it generaly wasn't much good The Hotel entertaiment was hit and miss thats why we used to go out to one of the towns thus the pricey bus rides. The dancing fountains in salou are a must see go on a weekend night because they do the whole show, cambrills is a lovely quaint place to have a stroll round too.All in all would go back to this Hotel but perhaps find one which is in the town or witin easy walking distance for the kids

Room Tip: pool view as their is a train line at the back but dont think they run that often or at night

Advantages:
- good meals, usually you can choose from lunch and dinner if you have half board;
- mostly friendly and attentive staff (a little knowledge of Spanish helps greatly).

Remarks:
- book in advance or ask during check-in for the sea view room, not even pool view (rounded part of the building). First, there is loud railway just at the rear part of the hotel. Second, poolside is also rather loud till late. And finally, sea view is always nice (rooms in the straight part of the building facing the sea). The balconies here offer you more privacy than those in front of the pool.
- the hotel neighbourhood is nothing special with not much to look at. Nice town of Cambrils is pretty far away, and Salou is also far from the hotel. It is a long walk to both towns, so it's better to take bus or taxi.

We stayed at this hotel Sep/Oct and the price we paid we cant complain too much. There a few thinks that could have been better but all we needed was somewhere to sleep, eat and relax.
The staff could give you a smile once in a while, but there was a couple that really made our holiday.
The food was ok, i'm a fussy eater and I managed to have something everyday, so can't complain.
We had a room that was a stone throw away from the train track, but to be honest even though it was loud when a train went past they weren't going 24/7 the lastest was about 11pm and the earliest was about 6.30am which once it went by that was that back to sleep, but it didnt ruin the holiday as we were relaxing by the pool and napping so wasnt lossing any sleep because of it.
Hotel is a little far out if you are hoping to walk to the waterparks and theme park but the bus stop is right outside and always had someone there if you didn't know what bus to get.
As my friend said below about the safe key deposit, we had an issue getting ours back as the cleaner must of bined our proof of purchase, even though they showed us their copy and said this it what it looks like but we got it back after having a little go.
Other than that I had a brilliant holiday with my husband and friends and got what we paid for cheap and cheerful, close to the beach and easy to get to places by bus and a place to sit around the pool and have a laugh and drinks.

Room Tip: It we are a light sleeper ask for a pool view room at the front of the hotel because of the train li...

We have just returned from a weeks stay at Best Cambrils. We stayed on an all inclusive basis. The food at the hotel was very disappointing, the hotel was closing on 12th October so staff were packing up around us. The jacuzi was closed on the 3rd day of our 7 night stay the childrens pool was closed. the pool bar closed 3 days prior to the hotel closing so drinks around the pool and pool snacks were finished which we found to be unfair as we had paid the same amount to stay at this hotel as people in previous months yet didnt get the same facilities although you could still get drinks in the main hotel bar.
The pool snack bar ran out of burger buns so if you wanted a burger it was slapped between 2 slices of dry toast!! The waiters were miserable apart from one in the restaurant and one member of the bar staff, Whilst having our evening meal on the Sunday before the hotel was to close on the Wednesday half of the hot plates in the dining room were switched off and the staff were cleaning them with whilst we were eating very off putting the smell of cleaning fluids whiost eating!!. On the the rooms were clean and tidy and ,the weather was perfect which was its saving grace. We stayed in a room on the 3rd floor pool facing with a balcony which was verynice but our room faced the hotel lifts so very noisy.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms near to the lifts and the railway track 4th floor pool facing is the best option but the...

just returned from a weeks holiday @ best Cambrils would like to know where they got this name from? no where near the Best, Food was appalling you could only describe it as scraps each day, Hotel was closing down on Wed 12/10/2011, Sunbeds being removed around the pool, Drinks and glasses being packed away, Jacuzzi pool was half emptied on the Friday. rep was non exsistant when complained to her she shrugged her shoulders and stated i am going home soon, Wish we had the chance to go home early, Bar staff were the most miserable i have ever encountered if it wasn't for us they wouldn't have a job. hotel need a complete overhaul. Our balcony rails had come away from the wall. Our tv plug sparked without even touching it, Beds were ok larger than average single beds. We were lucky as we had a pool view, would not have like the back view as trains run 24 hours and believe me we could even hear in our room @ the front so do not believe any one on here who states that the trains are not a problem i would not have like it all day and night. This hotel is def not a 4 star it struggles to be a 3 star, and will not be returning here.

I stayed at this hotel for a week at the beginning of october 2011, to be fair the hotel is good value for money i paid around £270 all inclusive for a week. The majority of the room face out backwards towards a train track which all though some reviews complain about it, it really isn't that big of a problem as you don't really get disturbed by them. the staff on a whole are okay although even being all inclusive the bar staff don't like you getting drinks for your group they prefer you one at a time. The evening entertainment is all spanish based(obviously) but it would be nice to have english speaking entertainment. The food is relatively good on the main meals, a lot of sea food based dinners though, but burgers ect are always available. The hotel is situated less then 50m from the beach and its quite a quiet part of the beach so is peaceful. all the facilities are pretty good and all work well.

MAKE SURE IF YOU HIRE A KEY FOR YOUR SAFE YOU KEEP THE DEPOSIT RECIPT OUT OF VIEW OF CLEANERS AS THEY WILL THROW IT AWAY AND THEY DONT GIVE YOU YOUR DEPOSIT BACK!!

And a smile from staff wouldn't go a miss as well, i also feel being british will put you down the pegging order with the other guest's hence why you probably wont get a pool/sea view room.

all in all the hotel is a "get what you pay for" hotel

Room Tip: do not except a room right outside the lift as you will not sleep at night the noise is horrific
