We came out as a family and had a very good meal. The staff are all friendly and helpful as usual. The only let down would have to be the struggle to find parking due to building works.

We have visited the Woodlands many, many times and have always loved it. Last night we arrived to find no parking spaces and huge work vans everywhere including, I noticed, in the Disabled Bays. Eventually a very small parking space became vacant which I was very reluctant to use. Your car door could be damaged if you parked there because the spaces are so, so small, let alone getting someone elderly or children out as well. It turns out that all the parking round the back is now taken up with huge diggers for the extension of the Premier Inn behind (ongoing into the New Year). You try to go round the back (there are no signs alerting you) and it is blocked off. You then have to reverse back because there is nowhere to turn round and the big work vans flank either side. The brewery is upgrading the hotel extensively at the expense of the restaurant parking obviously. Apparently even the garden out the back is now virtually non-existent. I went off and parked down one of the side roads, not good when you are leaving the restaurant in the dark. A gentleman told me the day before when he visited guests were literally parking behind one another and when the blocked in person wanted to leave they had to go down to the hotel with the registration number and failing that back into the restaurant to try to get someone to move their car so they could leave. Indeed, an utter shambles. The manager looked very worried and indicated he did not know how they were going to cope with the parking. I said I knew, they would lose a tremendous amount of business, including mine. I feel very, very sorry for the managers, waiting staff and kitchen staff who try so hard to make it a good experience and have done. This is out of their hands. Obviously the brewery are putting profits (i.e. hotel accommodation) above their restaurant clients.

In addition, the waiters and waitresses were in very short supply and had obviously been allocated too many tables, resulting in slow service and items being missed off the order. I found the whole evening very hard work. They were trying their very best in the situation but this is down to management's fault, cutting back on staff. Profits, again, I presume.

So, so disappointed. I will be finding somewhere else to go once/twice a week because even after all the work is completed there will still be not enough parking and probably even more work vans.

In addition to all this, our waiter and the waitresses were rushed off their feet. They had far too many tables to cover each and therefore the service was slow and items missed from the order which had to be retrieved. Not their fault though because they are usually so amazing. It is the fault of management not having enough staff on.

Had a large party booking and they catered brilliantly. On the day we had Ange ( I hope this is spelt right) as our waitress. Not only did she warn us when our surprise guest was coming she served us single handidly all night getting NOTHING wrong. Thankyou Ange for making our night lovely!!!!

We visited this restaurant on Friday 14th September and had a fantastic evening food was excellent as always really friendly staff and Carol our waitress was just brilliant she’s so helpful and has really good knowledge of the menu and all the offers she made our school friends reunion night the best.

Had an evening out and everything was just right. We got our requested booth seating. We got good service, not interrupted much, but constantly had drinks just how we like it. Food was good. Overall a great evening
