We had made the mistake of planning two weeks of camping during a heatwave with a toddler. Oops! The Redhill House was a lovely refuge for a couple of nights 'off' before packing up the tent to go. Lovely staff, and great rooms, with beautiful views, and a great little pool too. Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed here for a night when flying out of Bristol Airport. It is a high quality small boutique hotel where each room has a character of its own. Access from the car park above the hotel (which is on a hill) is very difficult indeed if it is raining and or you have heavy baggage. I suggest using the lower gate and dropping off passengers and bags before parking up. Breakfast is poor quality, and continental only, in a very cramped dining room. Service is not brilliant, as the only person on duty when we arrived and when we left seemed unsure of her role and the facilities on offer. Some staff training required here I think.

Room Tip: We felt it worthwhile paying a little extra for a premium room.

What a good find this hotel was. I was visiting Bristol at short notice and this was one of the few places that looked a bit different. It doesn’t look much from the outside, and the entrance to the car park, although signposted from the road, wasn’t actually that easy to find. The hotel has some lovely grounds, with a fishpond, with fabulous views.
The room I stayed in was on the ground floor, it was a good size, lovely comfortable bed, there was tea and coffee, complimentary bottled water, Sky TV, and the WiFi was excellent. The room I stayed in only had a shower in a wet room scenario, I’d expected a bath. This is where it was let down slightly as the toilet was too near the shower, so that once the shower had been on, and the floor was wet, the toilet really wasn’t going to remain dry! So the extra towels were used to mop the floor up a bit. The furniture was nice, but a bit tired looking and some of the mirrored bits were cracked, which wasn’t great.
The breakfast is where Redhill House could improve. The small breakfast room, was bright and modern, however breakfast was just as small in its choice. Toast (that had to be done yourself), crumpets or croissants, cheese and ham/salami and cereal, and if more than two of you are helping yourselves you fall over each other and get in the way. A wider choice of items would be good, or the opportunity to have a small cooked breakfast. The staff were very polite and helpful.
One attraction to this hotel was the swimming pool and spa, but both times I had considered using it though, there were lessons being taken.

We stayed here one night before flying. On arrival there was an awful sewer smell all around hotel and outside swimming pool. Once booked in, we asked fir coffee in the lounge which was supplied. There was thick dust on the radiator in our room which was also very dated. We didnt eat here in the evening as they gave impression they didnt want to supply meal and as i needed gluten free they suggested we went up the road. As we had to get up really early we were in bed by 8.30 but were woken up a short time afterwards by the receptionist ringing us requesting payment for our coffee. Thought this was a cheek as the booking included breakfast which they knew we would br too early to partake. On return from our holiday, we went to pick up our car and again there was an awful sewage smell. We certainly wont stay again.

Dear Carol Langley,

Thank you for taking the time to review our Hotel. All the land around Bristol Airport especially to the south is green belt farm land and during this time of year the farms do mucking, which can sometimes depending on which way the wind blows create a temporary pungent farm smell. I am so sorry that you are unable to distinguish the difference between a sewer smell and a farm smell. The room you stayed in has a digital inverter air conditioning system, 46 inch sony flat screen HD TV with Sky HD, high speed internet and telephone system, modern contemporary furniture and led lighting... so not sure about what you mean when you you say dated ? Your choice not to eat here is another interesting point. The staff "give the impression" that they didn't want to supply a meal is nonsense. You were offered what we could serve gluten free and interestingly reading your next review of the local gastro pub that you did eat at, you mentioned you had looked them up online and researched their menu. You had already decided to eat there before you arrived here. You are correct that a continental breakfast is included with your stay and it is ready from whatever time the earliest guest leaves (yes even at 4am) and does have gluten free options. The choice again was yours not to partake. The main point here is your coffees when you arrived ( to be clear they were cappuccinos) you feel should be given free because you did not have breakfast. Why would you think that you are entitled to free cappuccinos? It appears this a fabricated vindictive review because you feel you are entitled to free extras but you failed to mention the 7 days free parking you got included in your stay. You are not welcome to stay here again.

We chose this place because of the reviews left by other travellers. We were flying out of Bristol at 7.45am so just needed one night's stay. We booked direct and had a week's free parking. The room was lovely and clean with a large and comfortable bed. Everything we needed was provided; a welcome touch was the ability to set the phone for an early morning call. As we didn't know the area at all we opted to eat dinner there and found it very reasonably priced. The breakfast was fine; we didn't need much at 5.00am. The receptionist had booked a taxi for us, Prestige Cars, and he turned up on the dot at 5.30am having already texted to say the car was on the way. All in all a very pleasant experience.

Room Tip: Although we were at the front it was very quiet.
