We haven’t visited here for a few years but was told they were now doing the buffet every evening and thought we would try it. The restaurant is looking tired from the entrance in need of a lick of paint to the ceiling with what looked like a large damp patch, it just overall feels in need of some TLC. We can forgive this if the food is good though. Ordered a medley of starters which despite the ribs being a mass of bone and fat with no meat on them, the aubergine being salty and wet and the chicken satay tasteless and rubbery, this turned out to be the best part of the meal! Surely the crispy aromatic duck would be better we thought. Not a chance it was so hard I actually though it had bones in it, it was dry and again tasteless. Hoping they might claw back a positive we ordered our mains, plain boiled rice, there’s sticky and there’s solid! Sizzling beef in black bean sauce, I think they used an inner sole instead of the beef, it was so chewy that we both had to surreptitiously spit it out or we would still be trying to swallow it this morning. Kung Po Prawns was a mushy mess that consisted of some batter with no prawns in some cases, can only assume they made a run for it and chicken with cashew nuts in yellow bean sauce which tasted exactly the same as the Kung Po but with tasteless chicken. On a positive it was better than the satay starter and the cashews were nice. LOL.
As for the staff, they were so miserable and unwelcoming, except for the lady in charge. They were like zombies just going through the motions. Overall it was so bad it was laughable we will definitely not be returning or recommending.
