Popped over to Gigha on a day trip whilst on a family holiday near Campbeltown and had lunch at the boathouse......if you are in the area and like your food it is most definitely worth taking a trip over, the food is superb! (Best to book if making a special trip). Had real trouble deciding what to have as everything on the menu sounded so good, went for the crab & lobster cocktail and oysters to start which was delicious and then the seafood curry.....they should bottle that sauce! Looking at the menu online beforehand I was worried my youngest kids wouldn’t like anything but they have great options for kids too. The owner is very attentive and as we arrived ran through all the children’s options, kids fish & chips, beef burger, chicken goujons, macaroni cheese...plenty of choice for little ones. You can splash out and treat yourself to a big meal as we did or have a simpler fish & chips or burger for £12 or just tea and cake in the afternoon.....whatever you choose I don’t think you could be disappointed.....this place is a real gem!!!

Wonderful and imaginitive lunch towards the end of the season. Very very good. The only sad part was the unannounced service charge added to the bill. And it was still worth it!!

This seafood restaurant is literally only a few meters from the beach. Fantastic fresh seafood menu served in great surroundings. Very friendly host. Booking essential.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable lunch in this glorious setting overlooking The Sound of Gigha. The service was friendly and helpful whilst the food was a mere whisker off perfection. The seafood curry was exquisite with generous quantities of expensive and local, seafood delicacies in a mild but very tasty sauce that complemented the fish splendidly. The only thing letting this dish down was the king prawn, which had been so overcooked it was at the rubber band stage. I still cannot work out why the other seafood was so perfectly cooked yet the prawn was rubbish. The other dish we sampled was the cold seafood platter. This was beautifully presented on a slate with a selection of well matched accompaniments to the lovely seafood selection. Everything in the dish was excellent but the accompaniments did tend to swamp the gorgeous seafoods, which were somewhat stingy trifles.
