This hotel was a complete surprise.

It exceeded our expectations on all counts ...
It is a lovely hotel in a tranquil setting. The staff are friendly and the service great especially the breakfast and dinner staff.
It is set right next to the fiord with views across Bonne Bay.

The rooms are large ... ample space for a couple with maid service daily. Walking gets you dirty and the laundry at $10 a load, usually returned in a day is great.
Breakfast is early which suits most people doing the tours but the views from either side of the dining room are nothing short of fantastic. For various reasons we extended our stay by a couple of day and this was sorted out quickly and efficiently.

There is a sunroom that looks out over the bay that guests can use all day long and this is where we saw our first whale of our visit. They even supply binoculars ...
It's truly a wonderful location with great views ...

Highly recommended ...

Thank you for your review Chris. I'm so happy you enjoyed your stay and especially happy you extended your stay. It's great you saw a whale from the sunroom, it's pretty special when they pay us a visit!

Wing Commander has stayed elsewhere for less so trust me this is your best choice.
Comfortable bed with loads of pillows.
Friendly and helpful staff ... a given for The Rock.
Q Tip: Best restaurant for miles and miles and miles so make a dinner reservation and if the noise bothers you ... glass of wine, earplugs or one the pillows works wonders.
Q Tip: Wing Commander never uses the extras in a hotel like pool or gym or ... but driving through a snow storm in June made us ready for sauna and/or hot tub which were BOTH out of order. 15 degrees or above who needs this BUT on an ‘airsome’ day (crappy) a little heat would be nice or in place a complimentary drink at our dinner or something. All that was said was whoops and sorry.

Thank you for your review, I am so happy you enjoyed your stay. My apologies for both the hot tub and sauna being out of order. Truly bad luck but unavoidable. We have been waiting on a part for the sauna and unfortunately we are at their mercy. The hot tub was a matter of balancing the PH levels and having it safe for usage, sometimes a lot of use or just the products people wear can throw of the levels and we have to shut down until we have it back to normal. I do realize how disappointing this must have been.

I'd wanted to stay in Rocky Harbour but it was pretty completely booked for our trip dates, so we decided to stay here instead. Now I'll never go back to Rocky Harbour lodgings! This hotel is quite convenient to the highway (for access to the rest of Gros Morne NP), a few minutes' drive from Rocky Harbour with its restaurants and shops, and a water taxi ride from Woody Point, with its artsy vibe -- coffee roasters, craft brewery, galleries, etc.

The hotel itself is not large, and as someone noted, feels a little like the seniors' residence it used to be. However, the setting is breathtaking and the hotel itself is very pleasant. The rooms are simply furnished, with mostly locally made furniture. The bathrooms are large and well lit. The desk staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. There is a large sitting room with games, books, and magazines plus binoculars for whale or bird spotting. The sitting room and attached outside decks face the most amazing view of Bonne Bay.

We didn't eat dinner at the restaurant but likely will next time we stay there -- the breakfast buffet (included with the room) was imaginative, plentiful, and delicious. Oh, and you eat breakfast facing That View.

I will go back to Gros Morne and will definitely book at Neddies Harbour when I do.

If you sit in the sunroom or on the terraced back deck at this lovely inn, the surrounding mountains...layer upon layer of serene giants of rock...will leave you speechless. The Inn itself has a minimalist serene decor adding to the relaxation you feel. The on-site restaurant offers delicious fine dining experience but be sure to reserve as it is often booked. A delicious hot breakfast buffet comes with your room.each day.
But the attraction that has brought us to this Inn 3 times now, is the view right from the property. You will see a yellowish mountain that stands out. It is from the earth’s mantle..originally deep within the earth. My artist eye is always inspired by the scenery here.
You can make a short drive to the Cat Stop where you can sit on the deck and enjoy a pint while waiting for the next small ferry to take you across Bonne Bay to Rocky Harbour...or on a whale watching boat.
This location is a great spot to explore all of national Heritage site, Gros Morne!

Room tip: There are 2 floor to the inn...opt for the upper floor for bigger windows and better light.

We loved Neddies Harbour. The location is gorgeous - located steps from the water in a quiet harbour. It was the absolute ideal spot to relax - quiet and comfortable - after a day of touring and hiking. Their restaurant had the most diverse menu we found in the national park, and everything was delicious (we ended up eating there multiple times). The rooms were pristine and even we lucked out with a corner suite with a great view. One note for the summer time: the rooms do not have private outdoor spaces, but there is a communal deck that was rarely crowded.
