When we arrived (2 Adults 3 Kids) after a days travel from the other side of Australia there was no water at all in our room. We made three requests to the front counter, (the handyman turned it off) and eventually spoke to the manager, who was more interested in arguing than turning the water on and understanding that we all needed to urgently go to the toilet. It eventually came on after 2 hours and we could all go to the toilet.
Apart from that the property is generally clean (90%) and tidy. It's not on the beach even though the person who took our booking told us it was.
The rooms are mid size, and apart from a noisy 'window rattler' air conditioner, are generally good, though basic.
The grounds and pool are tidy and well maintained, there's a BBQ and rotunda for guest use.
The towels are tiny and kid size, and there's a sign on the kitchen bench saying 'dishes won't be washed, it's your responsibility' that says it all about the managers attitude towards guests.
The evening meal at the restaraunt was excellent, almost gourmet quality at a reasonable price and the service was fast and efficient. The two young girls who seem to run the place do an excellent job and are very friendly and are just like you would expect at a 5 star hotel.
Be careful not to sit at the wrong table for breakfast, as the manager's wife will throw a fit. All tables were taken for breakfast and other guests took the wrong table causing furore.
About 3 and half stars I would say.

With so little time available decided to go for quality. Booked the penthouse with those added extras such as spa on the deck. Had difficulty finding the apartment as the numbers are on clear glass but the search was worth it - spectacular views from a well appointed accommodation. However, were quickly disappointed when we discovered that everything was extra. Two towels for three days - if you wanted more it would be extra. One piece of soap(worth 22cents) between two of us for three days - more would be extra. If you wanted your room serviced - it would be extra. We had to clean the apartment and put out the rubbish before we left or a cleaning fee would be charged. When you are paying over a $1000 we did not expect to have to clean before we left. The long life milk in the fridge(100ml carton) was frozen it had been there that long. The patio furniture needed a good scrub too - so many places forget to clean the balcony area. If they had just provided a bit more service and not been so mean with the amenities(even $20 worth) it would make a world of difference. A beautiful place spoiled by the little things.

We visited the Pinnacles Motel, Cervantes in December 2003. We selected this motel from the internet because it was close to the pinnacles which we wanted to visit. We had expected it to be fairly basic, from the description on the website that we had found. We were very pleasantly surprised to find a high standard of accommodation in a good location. We explored the local beach on foot (we'd never seen such a green sea before) and travelled further afield by car. The restaurant was very professionally run and served a range of excellent meals, many made from local produce. We were only able to stay two nights but wished it could have been longer.
