“Just lovely”

We had family from the states and family who are also in the hospitality business visiting. We really wanted to take them somewhere nice. What a wonderful experience. We had $59 menu, think between the eight of us we tried everything. The food was beautiful, wine and service excellent.

“Very nice atmosphere. Friendly service. Good food. Few wines available.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 March 2012

We had dinner at this restaurant for an important family commemoration.
All comments I had read on this place pushed my expectations to a very high level.
They were only partially fulfilled.
The house sits in the middle of the vineyards which is always pleasant.
The interior decoration is really nice. Smooth and intimate.
Food is globally good but I was expecting a higher level of refinement.
As this restaurant belongs to the vineyard owner, his daughter is the Chef, the only wines available are those produced by this estate. It's understandable but it's a pity.
As far as service is concerned, it is friendly and attentive during the meal but, last but not least, it's excellent after the meal.
Here is the clue : the Maitre d'hôtel, actually the Chef's husband, kindly drove us back to our B&B because we hadn't a car. That's top service !!!

“Great Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 March 2012

We had a very good evening meal here. The setting, dining room, staff and food were of a high standard and we would certainly return. They have a fixed price menu at NZD59 with a good variety of dishes.
Our custom seemed to be appreciated, which is always nice when dining out.
A very homely experience.

From memory, only their own wines avaliable for purchase, which is common in Martinborough

“Absolutely delightful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 February 2012

This restaurant combines a gorgeous setting amount the vines of Martinborough with a mouth watering menu, which when delivered exceeds expectations. A host who understands customer service and excels at making you feel both welcome and important. Nothing is too much trouble.

Lovely to see that the art of hosting people is alive and well in Martinborough.

“Brilliant!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 February 2012

Absolutely wonderful experience, a MUST when visiting the area. Our waiter was fabulous - so funny, knowledgable and efficient. The meals were superb and of good size. My partner and I are both from hospitality backgrounds and truly enjoyed our dining experience. We will most certainly be back!
