This was our fourth time to Jasmine Cafe. We went for a quick dinner on a Friday night in June. We ate outside and it was fairly busy. The dinner took 2 1/2 hours and we didn't want to spend that much time there. At least the food was good but the service was appalling. It was very frustrating to see other tables sit down and eat and leave and we were still waiting for our entree. No plans to return. It's a shame because the food is wonderful.

It's easy to forget about the restaurants tucked into Reston around Lake Anne and that is a mistake. Jasmine Cafe always has an interesting menu, with reasonable prices. It has inside and outside seating - so much nicer sitting outside with fountains and a lake and ONLY pedestrian traffic than all those other urban restaurants with seating right along auto traffic. Parking is plentiful too.

Although most employees in and visitors to Reston, VA, head for the vast array of restaurants in Town Center, longtime residents know that the food, prices and parking are better at Lake Anne. A good example is the Jasmine Cafe, where the food is terrific, and menu changes frequently, the service is excellent even for groups, and the ambiance is lovely, especially when the weather is warm enough to eat outside. It's tempting to keep this a local secret, but that would not be fair to Chef Eduardo. So go ahead and join us at Lake Anne, folks, you won't regret it!

This used to be a great restaurant, but has really declined in the last year. The quality of food and service was poor on two recent visits. They downsized their space several years ago and it's just never been the same. Not sure what happened as it has a great location on the lake with outside dining in the warmer months. My go-to restaurant on Lake Anne has become my never again...so sad.

We love Jasmine......it's one of our favorite places in Reston. I don't want tonight's meal to be an indication of things to come. The appetizers were fair.......the stuffed chili was bland and the potatoes were undercooked and a bit "crunchy". Our main course....pork tenderloin was over done. The flavors were there, but the meat was like raw hide.
I so want Jasmine to flourish. I love the feel of the place and I want to go there rather than to some "institutional place" at Town Center. On a Saturday nigh, I hate to see Jasmine so "down". Let's find a way to bring back the goodness. Food is an art and meant to be enjoyed. Come on Eduardo.......kick it up a notch.
