Our family stayed here celebrating my husband's 70th birthday for 3 nights in September. We can not say enough about Nathan and Lumen and their generosity and their concern that everything went well for us. From the definite uniqueness of the renovated church with all of its artwork by Nathan's famous father to the blueberry pancakes (Yum!) each morning. I also thought the linens were very nice, too! We were given a tour of the outside sculpture garden and the workshop by Nathan. Nathan and Lumen built a fire in the fire pit and we invited them to celebrate my husband's birthday with us, as well as Nathan's brother, "Happy The Artist". I was able to purchase a birthday cake from a bakery in Luray and it turned out really nice. Nathan also played Happy Birthday on his harmonica (actually twice for him). There is so much talent in this family, and hosting guests is certainly at the top of the list of their talents.
Also, "Happy The Artist" gave our grandson two plastic animals which he carried around with him until we departed - Happy added to our visit, too!
We feel this was a memorable way to celebrate my husband's landmark birthday and we will always think of their family with a smile. We recommend staying here to anyone!
