Stayed here several months ago due to power shortage and gladly, Founders Inn has a room for my family on a same day reservation. Our room was very clean, the beds were comfortable and the staff was very friendly. We dine at the Hunt room and their signature burger was very delicious. We will definitely coming back.

I want to give a better review, but our overall experience with Easter Brunch didn’t live up to previous visits. As I’ll mention, I blame some of this on my own lack of planning. We’ve enjoyed Sunday Brunch and several other meals and events at the Founders’ Inn. I should have realized that Easter Day Brunch was a “special” event ($49.95) and not a normal Sunday Brunch ($29.95). That only matters because my 14-year old son (adult) eats like a picky 8-year old. Again, I’d failed to look at their website, so I was thrilled that they still had seating... although at 3:00 and 3:30 pm. (didn’t realize the buffet closed at 4 pm). We arrived at 2:45 and proceeded to the reception desk at the Swan Terrace... only to be told we were seated in the Ball Room. The Ball Room had live music and was nicely decorated, but not quite the same feel as the restaurant. A nice hostess seated us and told us that a server would be right by to take our drink order and get us started. There were 5 or 6 wait staff around us... but we waited and waited. I think by this time in the day they must have been simply exhausted. None of the servers made eye contact with us nor would they respond to our polite waves. After a full 10 minutes, a nice manager noticed us and apologized... he took our drink orders and pointed out the difffernt areas of the buffet. The food was great. Lots of selections... well prepared and displayed. However, while we were getting our first plate half the line and carving stations were shut down. No real impact... all the selections were still available, but they were clearly closing up. The servers were focused on cleaning up and closing out tickets, so we ended up getting our own beverage refills and coffee. Then desert... the desert area was in the square atrium, between the ball room and dining room. By the time we got there all the best selections (apple crisp, bread pudding, fruit parfait...) we’re gone and being cleared away. There were some delicious lemon tarts and mini cheese cakes, but the sweet rolls were cold and dry. Overall we had a good meal, but the overall experience didn’t add up to a $250 meal (tax and tip) for a family of four. Again, much our experience was due to my last minute planning. I’d consider going back... earlier in the day... with adult appetites.

We are sorry for the confusion regarding your reservation. Thank you for being a loyal customer for our regular Sunday Brunch, but we do special brunches for Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The price of the brunch also includes all of the activities that were available during the day for everyone to enjoy.. The ballroom is a different feel from our restaurant, but many people enjoyed the live band. We are glad a manager finally noticed that you did not have drinks,but it should not have taken 10 minutes for the server to approach the table. We value this type of honest feedback because we have a meeting after these large events to review them and see how we can improve for our next event.

We absolutely love this place! Our son attends Regent University so it's the perfect place to stay when we are in the area since our son can walk from his dorm to visit us. The grounds are gorgeous, staff is extremely friendly, breakfast was amazing and Emily at the Swan Terrace was one of the best servers we've ever experienced. The hotel is also pet friendly which is great, since we were traveling with our little Pekingese. There's even a fenced in dog park.

Room Tip: Pet Friendly with affordable luxury

My visit to The Founders Inn and Spa exceeded expectations. Rooms were clean and modern. Staff was very helpful. The food in the onsite restaurant was amazing. This was a very pleasurable visit, and I would recommend anyone stay at this facility.

Room Tip: Room was very nice, and the staff was very helpful.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. The hospitality was outstanding! The staff was friendly and very helpful. The grounds are gorgeously maintained. Emily N. was such an attentive server in the Swan Restaurant. She was very pleasant and friendly. The restaurants food was wonderful. As far as the rooms go ours was spacious and clean and the location was very quiet. They have a very large workout room and outdoor pool although it was too cold to use the outdoor pool. The indoor pool looked nice and they had a spa too. We will definitely be coming back I can’t say enough good things about our stay. Don’t hesitate to book a room at Founders Inn you won’t be disappointed.
