I learned to love the cottage setup of suites. Very family-friendly outdoorsy type resort. Disppointed with the small and NOT HEATED outdoor pool but can't wait to visit back when more pools are built. Accommodation is very pricey but the shuttle to Busch and Colonial saved us parking fees.

Room Tip: Our room was around the tennis courts and close walk to the Mill for quick eats and shuttle. Great spot for families with small children.

Kingsmill is a beautiful property with a lot of amenties but the walls are paper thin. We heard our neighbor's telephone conversation and he wasn't raising his voice. It turned out fine because they weren't night owls but, beware, if you get a noisy neighbor you will hear them. We wish we could stay here again but we just don't want to deal with potential noise.

The rooms are amazing! We got a 1 bedroom suite and it came with a full kitchen (dishwasher and washer and dryer included!)... The rooms are not all in one building, but they do provide free transportaion around the resort.

We are night people and wanted to be able to go out for the evening and found that by 10 PM on most nights all the bars on property were closed. We were with a group that we could call and meet up at a room.

There was also confusion in the billing when we checked out. We had booked for a three night stay with our event cooridnator and the resort said that we only had a two night stay and tried to overcharge us because we did not check out on time. We did get that worked out only because our event planner is amazing (there were also several other issues she encountered over the conference that she worked out, like not enough chairs for dinner!)...

Overall, I would go again, there are many things in Williamburg to see, but this is not a destination alone...

Room Tip: Get a suite and ask for a room that overlooks the Wareham's pond

Recently spent a weekend at Kingsmill for a business meeting. Excellent experience. My room was ready early (9:30 am) and I was able to check-in upon arrival. Reception staff were very friendly and outgoing. Room was great. Huge, clean and quiet. Faced out on the river...had a nice small patio with two chairs and small table. Two double-beds, desk, flatscreen TV, plenty of space and great linens. Bathroom was nice (a bit cozy), but well appointed. Would have been nice to have a hairdryer. Very quiet and close to the main building for meetings. Didn't try out the spa or sports facilities. Many attendees did and said they were great. Had lunch at the restaurant buffett (delicious, plentiful and lots of variety). Had a drink at Moody's Tavern. Nice atmosphere and bar snacks. Would highly recommend this hotel for an elegant getaway.

Room Tip: Ask for a second floor room facing the river. Ultra quiet!

From the spa treatments to the on property transportation and everything in between, Kingsmill is fabulous. Our suite was perfect for a long weekend stay with good friends who needed space to relax and catch up. The rooms were clean, the linens were top notch, and kitchen was well equipped. It is a perfect weekend get away spot even if you don't golf.
