We recently spent four nights at the Woodlands. Our room had two full size beds, three comfortable upholstered chairs, a small dresser, a coffeepot, a TV, but no fridge. The room had a view of the courtyard where you rarely saw anyone. The bath was large with the sink separate from the tub. There was adequate closet space. There was a continental breakfast included in the rate and the choices varied each morning. The eating area was large but could become congested with four at a table. On a nice morning, you could eat outside.
There were a few school groups staying as May is a busy month for field trips.

The Huzzah restaurant is across from the hotel. The visitor center is a short walk. Two stores in the visitor center are open in the evening. You can walk to Colonial Williamsburg or ride the shuttle. Hotel guests can purchase admission at reduced prices.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the courtyard. The first floor is convenient.

This hotel provides great access to the historic area with just a few steps to the Visitor Center and then over the bridge to the past or hop on the buses which are included in the access pass. It is not of the quality of the Inn or Lodge, but perfectly good for families and couples. Staying here avoids all the tourist traps of RT 60 plus you're able to take advantage of the special pricing for historic area tickets. Just park your car and leave it until you leave or go outlet shopping. We paid $29.95 each for our access tickets for all three days. Rooms are large and very clean. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Does include continental breakfast and if you stay away from the freeze dried eggs and stick with the fresh fruit, frozen waffles and hard boiled eggs, most will be satisfied. Very nice breakfast area inside and out. Very large pool and some recreation opportunities on site such as a driving green and volley ball court.

Room Tip: When you reserve ask for a woodland view. Very pretty and green.

We stayed here from May16 thru the 20th and could not have been happier with this hotel. It is adjacent to the visitor's center where we picked up the shuttle to the historic area. Shuttles seemed to run frequently, we never had a long wait. There is also a path you can take from the visitor's center to the historic area which was a nice 15 minute walk. The shuttle to Busch Gardens picks you up right on the hotel property. It was right on time both going and coming. The breakfast was also a plus with everything from cereals to eggs and sausages, waffles, bagels and sweet rolls, good coffee and fresh fruit. The staff in the dining area kept things clean and replenished as needed. Staff at the front desk could not have been more welcoming and helpful. We parked our car on arrival and didn't need it until we were ready to depart for home!

My husband and I stayed ay The Woodlands and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We stayed in a king suite which was nice and roomy, clean, and quiet. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good even if they did start cleaning it up too early. Once parked there we didn't need to drive until our day trip to Jamestown (which we could have taken the shuttle if we wanted). We plan on using the Woodlands when we make our next trip to Williamsburg.

The Woodlands Hotel is the perfect place to stay while going to Colonial Williamsburg. It is literally a 3 minute walk to the visitor center, so very convenient. The hotel itself is nicely decorated in a neo-colonial style. The rooms are nice, although there is not much room for walking around. We had two double beds, a pullout arm chair, a table with two chair, dresser, and nightstand. I especially liked the Williamsburg Spa shampoo, conditioner, lotion and bar soap which was provided in the rooms. The hotel also includes a small souvenir shop in the front lobby. Breakfast was ok. Everyday it included yogurt, cereal, grits, oatmeal, juice, tea, coffee, various breads (bagels, slices, pastries, waffles). There was a schedule posted outside the breakfast room of what what being served as the hot item for each day of the week. These included biscuits with sausage gravy, scrambled eggs and ham, and pancakes with sausage. These were all ok, nothing great, but it is "free" (although the eggs make me feel a bit sick). It was quiet, except for the last day when there seemed to be a conference so people were talking loudly in the hallways. Overall the hotel is nice, convenient and comes at a good value if you can get it with a Williamsburg package.
