We opted for a last-minute decision to visit Williamsburg and nothing was available due to homecoming at William and Mary. We found this listing but it was very expensive. We had no choice but to take this accommodation. (Normally we pay a lot less at the same resort booking through the resort instead of an individual).
I have to note that flipkey and trip advisor personal were amazingly wonderful in making sure we had an accommodation in Williamsburg. We had arrived there and thought we had booked a room via trip advisor and there were no rooms. Somehow the TripAdvisor person inputted the incorrect dates. But to our amazement we received many phone calls from people from TripAdvisor/Flipkey to make sure we had a place to stay and furthermore, making sure we were in a safe place in Williamsburg while resolving the hotel issue. At first annoyed that they messed up the dates but as they worked with us to get a place, they were very impressive. At the end we were very thankful for all their help and glad we had booked through them.
We liked the rooms (2bedroom /2bath).
The settings were great and ideal for two couples who would like separate bathrooms. It had a huge living and dining area combo. All the appliances in the kitchen were in good working condition. The place had been well taken care of.(In our previous stays at the same resort we always encountered issues with appliances and fixtures, not this time). Only negative was the price but we were thankful to have a place for 3nights since nothing else was available and we had another couple coming in from Ohio. Thanks For everything. Definitely recommend this place.
For us a bit pricey for regular visits to Williamsburg. Will definitely consider it if the price is lowered, in the future.
We were very disappointed with the unit. It is sorely in need of renovation. We expected a much better experience. And the indoor pool and hot tub were closed. That is one of the main reasons I booked this place
Our second time at Powhatan-all the comforts of home! Love having the deck, washer/dryer. John’s unit was nicely updated and clean. He also responded to questions in a timely manner. Would definitely stay again!
My family loves Thanksgiving, resorts, and "Christmas Town" at Busch Gardens. The Powhatan Resort experience allowed us to fully enjoy all three of these this year! The unit was more than we were expecting, allowing us to fully relax and recharge for the five days we stayed. The full kitchen facilitated the preparation of our Thanksgiving meal and the dining area allowed me, my wife, and our three kids to gather around for the dinner. It's proximity to shopping, Colonial Williamsburg, and Busch Gardens allowed us to enjoy outings, knowing "home base" was close by. The five of us took advantage of the indoor pool/spa and mini golf course. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. We are already looking forward to our stay next year!
We stayed in a 2BR downstairs unit which was spacious and clean. We were wary of the reviews we had read regarding the aggressive time share sales pitches by the Diamond Resort people, but were able to avoid all of them. John, the owner, was very responsive and quick to return messages and we had no issues whatsoever. The Powatan resort is pretty, however, we did not really take advantage of any of the amenities because we were rarely there--only to shower and sleep, as we spent our time out doing things such as visiting Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown, and Jamestown, Busch Gardens and Go Ape. The resort is very conveniently and centrally located to all of these places.
