We have a standing joke in our family that we cannot figure out how this place makes money as there is never anyone there. Plus they are the opposite of aggressive salespeople. The mellow vibe and "whatever" feeling is probably appropriate given they recently out up a green cross. Maybe they will finally get some business! The gardens are lovely

We didn't visit the restaurant/coffeehouse and, indeed, found no such services available when we were there in June of 2014. The gardens were undergoing some renovation, which disturbed the peace a bit. But we loved the garden anyway. It is beautiful, impressively laid out, with soothing sounds of running water and plenty of well-grown koi in the pond. It's fun to feed them with the cup of food you can purchase in the shop, and it's very pleasant to stroll the garden or sit and contemplate the plantings around the pond or in the bamboo garden. It's not large, but it is pleasant and was an easy stop along Chuckanut Drive.

the idea of this intrigued me and i was not disappointed. The lovely staff person was a delight and i spent about an hour in the garden just sitting...in the bamboo garden ( look for little messages of inspiration) by the waterfall and on a rock watching the carp. For 25 cents you can get a handfull of food out out of the machine to feed them...much fun!
the blackberry mocha coffee was to perfection. Remember to make a little donation to protect and continue the garden....

When you pull up in front of this "funky cool" coffeehouse, you may not notice the beautiful Japanese themed gardens behind! On a warm summer day, we just wanted an iced coffee. When we got there we were informed they had just run out of ice, but would be back in a few minutes with more! It seems they are still in the process of renovating this cute little building and don't have an ice maker of their own yet. Regardless, we went into the relaxing table area which has a wall of large windows overlooking the large, serene garden in back which has ponds and beautiful landscaping. Inside we found several tables and comfortable chairs (not new, but just fine), a library of books to enjoy and a couple of individuals playing acoustic guitar. We spent quite awhile inside, taking advantage of the relaxing atmosphere while enjoying our drinks and yes, the free wi-fi ! Currently they have coffee drinks, Italian soda and a few bakery sweets, but word is they are hoping to expand their offerings in the near future. As locals, we will be back to enjoy this relaxing spot!
