If you're camping at nearby Lake Chelan State Park and want a break from meal preparation, this is a great option. It's right across the highway from the park entrance and serves a good menu of burgers, shakes and fries. There's lots of seating outside, including some tables right along the nearby creek and even an enclosed table to get out of the elements. Very friendly service too.

My husband and I were just out for a drive and decided to stop here for lunch. It os located on the south shore of Lake Chelan across the street from the state park.
Grilled BLT on sourdough was yummy as was the grilled "Dreaming on the Lake" sandwich. The fries, which were lightly seasoned, were delicious.
Root beer shake and Oreo shake did not disappoint either!

Service was great! Friendly and pretty quick. Lovely outdoor seating area.

A fascinating set of dining options...
...tables and chairs beside First Creek, on the covered deck, uncovered deck, maybe a bench in the special adult embibing room, perhaps out on their fenced lawn (maybe bring your picnic blanket), set your family at one of the picnic tables out around the flag pole, etcetera.

You could even get your meal To-Go in your vehicle or perhaps head over to the state park across the road or to the park at 25-Mile Creek up the south shore of Lake Chelan.

As for the food, I've found the Alpenhorn to be an enjoyable stop at random times for decades now (even since I lived out past there back in the late 1970s).

And consistency...? I'm not qualified to say, as I try something different every time from their fairly vast menu. :)

Wow, what a fun cafe! We're always looking for a place to eat accessible by boat. Bit of a hike, but you'll need to work up an appetite for the delicious food. Mostly outside seating with some under cover. Deck, grass, and creek side tables. Food is excellent and generous. Also a nice variety of beer, wine, and local cider. Easily accessible from Watson's Resort or Chelan State Park.

We ate here on a rare rainy day this summer, and so probably did not experience this (mostly) outdoor cafe at its best. Still, the food exceeded my expectations, while sticking to the basics -- in a good way. The burgers were good, the veggies were thick cuts and fresh, the buns were fresh and tasty, and fries and shakes were simple but well prepared, and there is a good selection of beers and ciders to go with it all.

Alpenhorn was recommended to us by the fuel attendant at the nearby dock and gas station on the south side of Lake Chelan. We ended up driving by car the next day. But in the future we will take advantage of the nearby public docs and walk up from the lake. The walk is not super short, but short enough, and it will be a nice burger break for a day on the lake.
