Great service, food was excellent. For the quality of food and the atmosphere, the cost of dinner was excellent (very reasonable). We are travel to Seattle, stopped for dinner. I don't normally make time to do a review but my family (who probably eats out more then we should) was impressed.

We occasionally travel to the Seattle area from NE Oregon and always make an overnight stop in Cle Elum, Wa specifically to eat at Mama Vallone's.

Their signature dish is Bagna Cauda (think Italian fondue). You have a small cast iron skillet on a burner at your table. The skillet is filled with oil, garlic and other spices. You cook small pieces of vegetable and meat in the hot oil. When each piece is cooked you cool and drain off the excess oil on a piece of bread. As time goes on the oil becomes more and more flavor-able with the cooking. At the end you can eat the oil soaked bread. All in all its fun to share cooking with your dinner companion(s) and makes for good conversation.

The other items on the menu look great, but we ALWAYS have the Bagna Cauda, its a treat.

We went in for a light dinner. We had both had the soup and salad dinner. Soup was delicious, salad was crisp and fresh, focaccia bread was warm and good. This dinner option was a tad expensive, but it's all you can eat, so it's kind of up to you whether or not you get your money's worth. The atmosphere here is delightful, and the staff was friendly, though they seemed to be rushing about somewhat frantically to keep up. Perhaps they were understaffed, but the place didn't seem exceptionally busy while we were there. Overall, nice place, good food, pleasant atmosphere. I'd like to go back again and try additional menu items.

We had the less popular Puttanesca and Grilled Salmon salad. The Puttanesca was ok, but I've had better. The salmon was unimpressive. The salad was mundane. Not a bad experience, but just average.

Best Italian I've ever had! The bagna Cauda (you cook everything yourself) is such a fun dinner to have with a small or large group.. Or even just a couple. The bagna dinner for 2 is around $45 and just way too much food for two people. You get salads or soup, your choice of two side dishes, a plate of meats (steak/prawns/chicken), huge bowl of vegetables, and homemade bread and butter.
The roasted garlic dipping sauce is amazing for the bread (huge spoonful of roasted chopped garlic, olive oil, balsamic).

The homemade warm Sicilian apple cake with ice cream and homemade caramel or creme brûlée are delicious with an espresso or coffee nudge (baileys, kaluah, coffee, and whipped cream)!
So fun to make a night out of it!!

Kelly, the owner and server is so sweet and makes some good drinks!

P.s. Caesar salad dressing is to die for.
