We went yesterday with our six year old. I was concerned that the light summer winds around here would make for a lot of motoring but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sailing. Ward was a great host.

Capt.Ward is a patient and knowledgeable sailor. His boat is 70 years old and in great shape for such a nostalgic boat. He allowed all 6 of us to take the helm and work the sails. It was a bit tight on space but with 2 in the front,it was fine. We loved that the boat was older, if your looking for a fancy boat. This is not the tour for you. We recommend the Aura and Capt Ward to you. On a ferry back to Orcas we saw the Aura sailing, with the sails blowing and it listing to its side and it was a beautiful site. To think we were on the same boat the day before made me smile.

What a wonderful experience! My bride and I had a very relaxing, and informational sail with Ward. He was pleasant, friendly, KNOWLEDGEABLE, and funny!! He gave great instruction and let me and my wife take the tiller and sail our way around Deer Harbor and more! He kept us right at the promised 3 hours, and for someone who was looking forward to sailing leading up to this trip, it was very worth the price and outcome! Thank you Ward!

Pleasant sailing with amiable Capt Ward on a picture perfect day on a wooden boat built in 1948 . He encourages passengers to participate in the handling of the boat Tours are 3 hours in length and you bring your own food and drink. Good value .

Custom made a special excursion for my interests and needs (ie. vegetation, wildlife and marine life of the area, historical information, instructed me with hands-on guidance to learn to sail) Very honest, kind and an excellent coach. Had an awesome experience. He works very hard to accomodate tourists and is very well versed in sailing the waters of the San Juan Islands. Thanks Ward. Will come again.
