Stay Beyond Inn & Suites
Everything was great until checkout when I asked why the bank charge didn't correspond with what I was told last night. We paid $100.33 for a regular room to find out that the room had no refrigerator or microwave. Photos online showed refrigerators and microwaves. Their own website wouldn't load on my phone properly, while other sites loaded with no issues. We have to have the refrigerator for meds. After checking in, then seeing the room, we were offered a suite for an additional $19, but were charged $33.45.
$19 + tax isn't $33. 45. I checked my bank account at night and this morning to see the same charges above.
At checkout, the man at the desk, Jay, said the room was $119 + tax, which wasn't what was explained last night. I told him that wasn't what we were told. Instead of discussing that, he repeatedly asked me who told me that, wanting a name and description... Then he changed the subject to pet fee. We were told last night there would be no pet fee because it's a service dog. Jay said even one hair from a dog is damages to the room, so he was charging a pet fee; they always charge pet fees for service dogs. He said he'd print their pet policy out for me and didn't. My husband came back in with the luggage cart, and then Jay finally agreed to not charge the pet fee. I asked him to write that on the receipt. He repeated "no pet fee," then said he'd "refund the room charges." I agreed, & said, "Okay, do it." He said no, if we were charged a pet fee he'd refund the room charges. I told him that's not what he said.
In the end he wrote on the receipt that he wouldn't charge the pet fee, but the discrepancy in the room fee wasn't dealt with. The suite was a studio. The only separate room was the bathroom. The room was very nice.
He also told me repeatedly during the conservation to "leave and never come back again." There are plenty of other places to stay. No problem.
It was evident early on that he was very upset. In the end I told him he appeared to have an anger problem. He agreed. Then he told me I should see a doctor...
Really!
We stay in hotels, motels, RV parks, and vacation rentals in various countries regularly. We do not need "Stay Beyond..."
The rooms are very nice. 50% of the staff we encountered were not nice.
Jay is an owner.
