“Well Done!”
Reviewed July 25, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

If you're looking for a great spot to stay to explore the Hoh Rain Forest and the cool beaches nearby, this is it. We stayed in the one bedroom and had all we needed. As a town Forks is nothing to right home about, but it is convenient to activities. We were glad to see that in July it didn't rain much so we didn't need any rain gear. There is a 15 to 20 degrees difference between the beaches (cold, foggy, windy, beautiful) and inland at the rain forest (hot and dry when we were there)
Port Angeles is about 1 1/4 hours away and a pretty drive. Stop by the health food store in Port Angeles for some healthy food on your way in.
Beach # 4 was our favorite because of the tidal pools and rocks to climb on.

“Had all we needed”
Reviewed June 28, 2013 for a stay in June 2013

We stayed here for three nights while touring Olympic National Park. It is a very convenient location for visiting the some of the southern areas of the park. There is a large supermarket quite close by. The accommodation, on a quiet residential street in the town center, consists of an entry foyer, small living room, small bedroom, small bathroom and nice-sized kitchen with a dining el. There is a pretty garden in front, with table and chairs. Unfortunately, it rained every day we were here, so we couldn't take advantage of it.

The living room has a sleeper sofa, coffee table, two armchairs, chest and large flat-screen television set, along with a DVD player and a number of DVD's. The bedroom has a comfortable queen bed, night tables and small chest of drawers. If you don't want to be woken by early morning light, I suggest you bring a pair of eyeshades, as the curtains and blinds don't keep the light out.

The kitchen is well equipped with full refrigerator, range and oven, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, dishes, pans, etc. There were even spices for guests to use. Unfortunately, the microwave was on the refrigerator, and this 5'1” lady couldn't reach it. My husband managed, but it was a stretch even for him, and he decided it was safer to stand on a chair. My suggestion would be to put the microwave on the small table which is against one wall. The dining el had a nice-sized table and four chairs, and some bookshelves containing paperback fiction, jigsaw puzzles and a fair number of books about the area and its activities.

There was a good supply of soft towels in the bathroom, also dispensers for soap, shampoo and conditioner. There was a hairdryer.

The heating, very necessary when we were there in June, worked very well, and there was a gas stove in the living room, which we didn't use. Lighting throughout the unit is good. Wi-fi is available, but there is no phone.

We never got to meet the owners or managers, which seemed strange. We tried e-mailing and calling, but got no response. In any event, we had no real need to interact with them.

“Like staying in your coolest friend's home while she is out of town”
Reviewed October 11, 2012 for a stay in October 2012

Who knew you would find such a great place to stay in little old Forks. This place was even better than the great place i stayed at in Capitol Hill, Seattle, The Maple Apts, which were also great.
I especially appreciated that unlike other VRBOs i stayed at, the kitchen was really fully equipped with really nice Cephlon pots and pans, as opposed to nasty old teflon.
The place was quiet, the bed fantastic and firm and high off the ground, the decorating really lovely, unlike the IKEA showroom style of some other places i have stayed at, like i say i felt like i was staying in a friends home with better taste in decorating than i have.
Justin was easy and fast to deal with, and very nice. There were even some decent videos to watch. Why do all the other places have Chitty chitty bang bang? And OMG, the water pressure and european shower head were fantastic after a long day hiking. Finally, i also really appreciated the european environmentally friendly water saving toilet with two different flushes.
Thanks kids!

“Ideal location for exploring Olympic National Park”
Reviewed October 10, 2012 for a stay in October 2012

Smack dab in the middle of Forks. This house is within walking distance of everything. It was great to come home to a house as opposed to a hotel room after hiking all day. The house was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Loved the ability to put in a code to enter the home rather than having to use a key.

The place is very cute and comfortable but only has one small room. It is near the main road and very loud. I had a very hard time sleeping.

We stayed in the new two bedroom house. It was amazing for our group, there was plenty of space to spread out, ample and gorgeous kitchen, cozy living area, homey dining area and even an office/desk space for those who absolutely must work when in the OP (no one should do that). The decor was perfect and it's extremely charming. It was really easy to book and get in on the arrival day. My only regret is that I didn't stay longer. This would be a perfect home base for a week long trip to the Olympic Peninsula. I highly recommend it.

“Excellent Place to Stay!”
Reviewed September 8, 2012 for a stay in September 2012

The funky small town of Forks (of "Twilight" filming fame) is a great location to visit the beautiful Hoh rain forest, and to photograph the spectactular stone "stacks" at Ruby Beach. A much better choice than busy, industrial Port Angeles. Be aware that often the mornings and evenings are very foggy along the very edge of this coast. . . best to try for some sun in the early afternoon.

We've been traveling about 6 months a year for the past few. . . ah, what seems like decades. The Woods Street Guest House is the best outfitted guest house we've ever encountered. This young couple has done an outstanding job recently rebuilding "from the rafters" these two off set units (little true common wall space), with an adjoining door. . . perfect for families or groups of friends.

We stayed in the one bedroom unit. There is a small yard in front, complete with flowers and outside dining furniture. The interior is like a small apartment, with an actual foyer (a place to leave hiking boots and jackets), a medium sized very fully equiped kitchen, a separate dining room, a good sized living room with comfy sofa bed, and a small separate bedroom. Plus, all of the furniture and furnishings (large thirsty towels, etc.) are still new, well chosen and very comfortable. . . even the queen sized memory foam bed.

The icing on the cake is the thoughtful attention to detail: basic spices, coffee & filters, "sharp" knives, wine glasses, cleaning resources, clean extra blankets, plenty of hooks for towels and clothes, free wifi, good TV access and family DVDs, games, books, etc.

For the price of a decent hotel room, you can have an immaculate apartment with a "real" kitchen and room to spread out. . . wha's not to love??? Very highly recommended!
