If you are looking for sushi rolls, stay clear of this place, however, the standard sushi/sashimi items are available. Service was very good. The tempura panko was flaky enough, but uninspiring. A bit pricey for what it is.

There is nothing like traditional Japanese dishes like tempura, tonkatsu, chicken teriyaki, sukiyaki..... it's just good food! Izumi offers all that in a nice cozy restaurant. Great service, good food, easy on the credit card. Add a little sushi and fresh sashimi--- great dinner!

On my last visit, was very surprised at the following..ordered sashimi special $ 27.00 there was no ginger, the waitress brought me 5 small pieces,I asked for more, and she brought "5 small pieces"..to add insult to injury, was charged for the extra ginger...most Japanese restaurants will give you ginger at NO COST..how cheap can you get....To the owners of IZUMI,raise your price if you have to, but it is CHEAP to charge for extra "ginger"....

Not sure whether the restaurant is very good because the chef is Japanese. But very good it is. The sushi is good because it has been 'aged' right according to my wife who has lived in Japan for more than 9 years. Apparently, the sushi melts in the mouth due to the aging. I ate tempura lunch and the portion was large but I had better tempura meal in Ginza, Tokyo, for example. The menu list has good variety. There was a constant attention by the waitresses refilling the hot tea, etc. And the bill was quite reasonable. Recommend to people who love sushi. Another indication of this restaurant's strong reputation was more than half of the guests were Asians including Japanese. The restaurant is clean and functional but not upscale. The location is a bit hard to find.

Rated best sushi in Kirkland. Happily surprised. It was a birthday dinner so we indulged. The service people were attentive and charming. The food was delicious and nicely presented. Looks like it gets quite busy on Saturday evening
