“Relaxing, peaceful setting. Great place for a group or family.”
Reviewed 6 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We knew it was time to unplug from technology when we heard a strange sound our first evening there and looked at cell phones to see whose device was making the noise. Turned out to be a real, live cow mooing. :) Flood Farm is such a beautiful setting, so quiet, so restful. We were three senior women friends, looking for a week's getaway, and this certainly fit the bill. The large open space reminded us a bit of summer camp for adults, but of course, a lot nicer than bunk bed dorms. The owner and staff at the farm were very welcoming and friendly, but also allowed us to be on our own as much as we wanted. After all, we've been around the block a few times and can figure things out, other than getting the DVD player to run. I guess we did too good a job of unplugging from technology.

The furniture and beds were are comfortable, a blessing to old, arthritic bodies. They had kindly set up two high-end Aerobeds along with the regular double bed for the three of us, but I found the futon to be most comfortable for me. Some of the best sleep I've gotten in a long time. Everything was clean and the decor a great mix of farm, funk and friendly. We had three mellow dogs with us and there was plenty of space for dog beds. We all did a good amount of lying around, humans reading and pups snoozing. We also walked the grounds often and made use of the very large hot tub.

One of our favorite things about the lodge is all the windows along the wall that faces Loomis Lake. Though we had some stormy weather the week we were there, it wasn't very cold and having those windows open for the fresh air was absolutely wonderful. It made for superb sleeping.

As you might guess, we were not the most active group Flood Farm has ever seen, but it's nice that this place can accommodate the more sedate set like us, as well younger groups who would be more inclined to make use of pool table, ping pong table, sports court and trails through the woods. We were more active in the kitchen and cooked some marvelous meals and enjoyed sharing them around the big farmhouse-style table. As with most vacation rentals, don't expect to find a gourmet kitchen awaiting you, but if you're experienced and creative, great things are possible. Or you could invite us along and we'll cook for you. :)

The location of the farm is between the towns of Long Beach and Ocean Park, an easy drive to either place for fun, shopping, etc. with many accesses to the beach along the way. For more able folks, it wouldn't be that long a walk to the beach right from the farm.

If you're lucky, they might have a litter of puppies. We got to watch the five-week-old puppies start "come" and "sit" training. It was all we could do to leave the farm without dognapping all those cuties and bringing them with us. The adult dogs are very well trained, and obeyed Cindy to sit and wait when they were out exercising and encountered us walking our dogs. There are also ducks and cows and horses and wildlife. Sitting in the hot tub and watching the birds land on the lake on a still morning was very memorable.

All in all, a lovely place to stay, especially with friends or family. Set far back from the road so it's extra quiet, though with the stormy surf we could still hear the roar of the ocean. And on clear nights, the stars and milky way were a special sight. While probably best suited for young and active guests, we loved our stay at Flood Farm. It provides a great opportunity for those what want busy activity and those who want to sit back and enjoy. So glad to have experienced Lake Lodge Bed and Barn!

“Great Space”
Reviewed 19 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

I stayed here with my girlfriend and another couple. we had a great time staying here, It is essentially one BIG room with lots of amenities (ping pong, pool, hot tub, piano) The people that own the property also breed dogs, so there are dogs, which my girlfriend loved. For the price you would normally pay for a decent hotel this place is well worth it.

“Great Group Getaway - Pet Friendly + Huge Hot Tub”

What a great retreat! We had a friendly welcome and the space was lovely. The quiet, beautiful grounds were just the escape we were looking for. Top it off with an amazing hot tub and great fun with the ping pong table and basketball court and it made for a great stay. We appreciated the dog-friendly options as well.

The space is one large room with high ceilings. There are screens between the sleeping areas. There are two regular beds and several high-end blow up beds. It made the whole experience feel like a grown-up slumber party! Everything was clean and comfortable and the kitchen was appointed with the basics.

It's about a half hour north of Astoria where we went for a trail run and the seafood and wine festival. We also drove just a few minutes down to the beach to get our feet in the sand and watch the sunset.

Wonderful all the way around!

“Nice View of Loomis Lake”

We had a nice stay at the Lake Lodge at Loomis Lake.
The hot tub was nice, and the lodge was clean.
We didn't play pool, Ping-Pong, or basketball,
but we still had fun.
We were there for the rod run and to see classic
hot rod cars.
