We stayed at the Totem Trail Hotel recently in order to do some hiking in the Northern Cascades. For the price, this hotel was more than adequate for our purposes. Yes, there were no microwaves or fridges in the rooms, but there was access to them. Most important to us, the room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the service provided by the owner was good. We had trouble with the wifi the first night and when we spoke to her about it, she had it corrected for the rest of our stay. There are restaurants within driving distance on either side of the hotel's location. The proximity to the park is also very good. We would definitely stay here again if we returned to the Cascades.

Basic, no frills but very clean and the service was super friendly and helpful. Nothing beats a hot shower and 500 count sheets after a long day of hiking! We arrived late (one hour past closing) but we called ahead to let the desk attendant know. She greeted us cheerfully and was understanding about our travel delays. The room was small but clean and well equipped with a coffee maker, and a set of dishes. The bed was super comfy with luxuourious sheets and pillows. Bathroom was clean with updated fixtures. The common refrigerator was old, but inside was clean. Shared microwave was located on top of fridge. Tip -- there is a wine bottle opener on a hook next to the fridge if you forgot yours at home. Would definitely stay here again. Downside: walls are super thin. Our neighbor for the first night snored like a bear, second night neighbor spent all night trying to cough up a lung.

Basic no frills hotel. Wi-Fi pretty much mom existent. No microwave. Common refrigerator was inconvenient and dirty. Hair dryer broken. For one night fine but more than that became wearing. Room not cleaned or garbage emptied. Owner sweet but she couldn't care less.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 1 night after our reservation was lost at another inn. We showed up at 8pm and Sonja came out and greeted us right away! She got us into our room quickly and was so sweet and accommodating. The property is beautiful with the option to BBQ and cook your food under a gabezo type structure while listening to the nearby stream. The rooms were cozy and clean and comfortable. We will definitely be staying here again!!!!!!

We have tried staying at a number of other places in the Skagit Valley with very checkered results....mostly bad. The Totem Trail Motel has far and away been the best of the lot at a fair price. This is an updated 1950's motel that receives daily TLC. Everything was clean and the bed was comfortable. The owners even wash the dirty dishes for you....coffee cups and glasses. The Hyatt it's not, but it is the best place to stay east of Sedro-Wooley.
