This hotel is in s convenient location close to the freeway and downtown. Our room was large with excellent handicapped bathroom. The room was very clean. The bed was great as were the pillows. We had dinner and breakfast a the restaurant both of which were delicious. They also have a secure parking area. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

I recently was in charge of finding rooms for a number of my coworkers for an event happening at the Yakima Conference Center. I priced out a couple hotels but decided on this one since it was so close and the highest rated. First I want to say that the staff was incredibly friendly and that this should not reflect poorly on them, just on their training. When we checked-in as a group, paying with one credit card, they made us all check-in individually. I have no idea why and it took about a half an hour. They took down our addresses and the credit card information for every person. Surely, they must have a faster way to do this? If I had pulled up with a bus full of children on a field trip, would they have checked in each person individually?

The second thing that really irritated me, despite it probably being my fault, was that we were told breakfast was not free, but we did get a discount at the restaurant. Both myself and my boss thought we read that prior to booking, otherwise I probably would have had to take my crew somewhere else.

The beauty of the rooms, beds and such have been sung by others and I do not disagree. The coffee was great, beds comfortable and everything was classy.

Check out for our group was equally as painful as check-in. It took over a half an hour and had do do an individual check out for each room. Half way through the computer froze and the staff member had to switch computers and pick up where they left off. Again, the staff members were so apologetic and so friendly. I just really think the entire institution either needs to re-thing group strategies or train their staff better.

This hotel was a new property - very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and there is also a restaraunt in the lobby that has good food. The rooms are nicely appointed and the staff take pride in the property. The hotel also has a large gated parking lot surrounding it, although the neighborhood didnt seem bad at all.

It was a pleasure to stay here.

Stayed here during a business trip. It is across the street from the convention center. That means they cater to conventioneers, which is apparent with the full bar not 20 feet from the front desk. But still, tastefully done. I suspect it's not the best neighborhood based on the high iron wrought security fence that surrounds the parking lot. TV is family friendly with no porn option. One thing that was very annoying was the lighting, which does not use modern "on-off switch" technology. They are a little intrusive in that they try to keep guests from using the lights too much. When I arrived I went straight to the rest room and the lights shut off on me 4 times in a row. I had to call the front desk for help. They gave me an extra key so that I could leave the lights on because the lights themselves require a room key. That way I could use one for the door and another for the lights. They 'nudge' guests to turn the lights off, but it's downright intrusive. If I end up there again I'll ask for a room with simple on and off switches.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with regular on-off switches to avoid inconvenience with lights.

We just spent a night at the Yakima Holiday Inn and it was perfect. Lots of parking. Good location to freeway or downtown area. Beds were very comfortable. Everything was very clean.Nice size hotel not too big and not to small. It was very open and light. The small bar and grill served good food and the menu was complete.Nice pool area with exercise room.We will come back to this one.
