When we entered the Capitol grounds we immediately noticed this monument to the veterans of West Virginia . very very moving tribute to those who gave their lives for these four wars: World War I World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Also a very nice monument to Women veterans, and coal miners at this location

A part of the Capitol Complex in Charleston is a somber monument to those West Virginians who gave their lives for our country. In the interior corridors are list of those killed in action in each of the major wars. There is even a highligted list of Medal of Honor recipients. The Statues on the perimeter of tree monument represent military figures from World War One, Two, Korea and Vietnam. Every visitor should stop and pay tribute.
