Reservations at this Residence Inn do not mean a thing. We had a reservation for April 8th and arrived at 4pm. We were told the rooms had not been cleaned and we're asked to wait 15 minutes. After one-half hour we were told rooms were not yet ready. So we said we would go to dinner and return later. When we returned at opm, we were asked to wait again. After another 20 minutes we were told there were no rooms at all. Rather than traveling to another Marriott on the other side of town, we opted for the Holiday Inn almost across the street. Very pleasant there. No apology from the Residence Inn. And this long-time Marriott Rewards member just shredded his Marriott credit card. There are plenty of other hotels that appreciate my business. NO MORE MARRIOTT!

Room Tip: Just do not stay here

edlexin,
Good afternoon. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the troubles you encountered attempting to stay at our property. No excuses will be given, because this was an unacceptable occurrence, but not at all normal for our facility and staff. We may not have the chance to make it up to you, although we ask you not to hold this situation against every Marriott. Again, we are very sorry.

Sincerely,
RI Morgantown Staff

I stayed here for a week while my house was being painted. Because the hotel is pet friendly, my animals accompanied. The first night there I heard my dog crunching something but it was gone before I could identify. Two days later, my boyfriend found a potato chip next to the sofa. We had not eaten chips in the room, so clearly the room was not cleaned before we showed up. The windows and sink were also filthy (and filmy!) and the cherry on top was the cheap vanilla air freshener permeating the lobby and hallways. When we checked out on a Saturday there was one person working who had no authority to make decisions and had to call several managers to discuss voiding our cleaning fee. The desk clerk was very polite, but I am appalled that a hotel has one person, whose badge said TRAINING, working alone on a Saturday.

I'm rating it 2 because it was close to my office and the staff was very friendly and as accommodating as possible. I'm just not sure where the cleaning staff was.

Stephanie F,
Good afternoon. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the room not being cleaned properly prior to your arrival at our property. We are currently experiencing some staffing issues, which we are working towards solving. The staff member that was on property did the right thing contacting a manager. It was more of a courtesy call to ensure this was the correct route to take. Again, we apologize for the inconveniences you encountered, and I hope you give us another chance if you find yourself in Morgantown again.

Best Regards,
RI Management Staff

We had to come to Morgantown for a family Emergency. Even with having to bring our dog, this hotel was most accommodating not to mention so close to Ruby Hospital. Would Def Recommend. Friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Also very close to food and shopping.

We chose Residence Inn because we were traveling with a service dog. The one bedroom suite allows us to close the bedroom door so our dog doesn't awake us with noise from the hallways.

We were assigned a very large one bedroom suite close to an exit which was convenient to take her out. Sadly, there was not much of an area to walk the dog.

The carpeting should be replaced in this room as it is badly worn and coming up around the fireplace. We were able to prepare a simple dinner in our kitchen and relax following a long day.

Breakfast was adequate.

Sky34,
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review on our property. We are glad that you were able to relax and enjoy the amenities we have to offer. You are more than welcome to walk your fur buddy anywhere around the hotel. By no means are you restricted to the pet area. UnderArmor has also formed a program with Residence Inn properties that provides running routes for guests. They may also be great dog walking routes! Thanks again for the review, and we hope to see you back again soon.

Sincerely,

It is like many Residence Inns, but has some disadvantages. On the plus side, its location allowed us to really spend some time in Morgantown. We had passed the town several times, but never stopped there. Guess what, it is a nice university town with some great shopping and restaurants. It is worth the stop. The hotel itself is several miles off the interstate, but is easy to find (with a GPS of course). While the hotel layout is typical, parking may be some distance from your room. The free internet was quite slow at times and did not connect easily. Breakfast was disappointing and would at best rate marginally acceptable. In typical fashion, the staff we met were friendly and helpful but did not bring the hotel to an above average rating. However, we still feel Residence Inns are terrific price performers

Thank you for taking the time to give us a review! I would like to address many of your comments and use these as training opportunities for our staff. Could you please email me at leah.carbone@marriott.com with your reservation details. As for our breakfast we uphold Marriott brand standards. While uphold Marriot breakfast standard we would still like to hear what you would prefer that you didn't see on our breakfast spread. Thank you again, and I appreciate your time.
