“A lovely and cozy bungalow that makes you feel at home”
Reviewed January 29, 2018 for a stay in December 2017

Applegarth is a great little gem of a bungalow in Thorpe St. Andrew Norwich. The moment you set foot inside, you'll feel like you're in your home away from home. The bungalow features everything you need for a perfect family holiday in England.
My Family and I have had two great stays at this bungalow, once in the summer time and once over Christmas. The bungalow features two good sized bedrooms with double beds, and one "Childrens" Bedroom with two single beds. There is a cozy lounge with a fireplace and a large TV, as well as a nice dining area, and a good sized fully equipped kitchen (Big Fridge/Freezer, Stove/Oven, Sink, Dish Washer, Microwave, Toaster, Kettle, Washer/Dryer, etc...)
The bathroom features a bathtub/shower, toilet, lavatory, and heated towel rack.
There is a children's Travel Cot, as well as a high chair, for families traveling with small children.
Just outside the back of the bungalow is a nice little patio, which extends into a good sized garden, with a nicely landscaped stretch of lawn, trees, and bushes.
As the garden is fenced in, it is a perfect spot for kids to play, without having to worry about them running off the property.

As far as the location goes, this bungalow is perfectly situated for every need. There is a well stocked Co-op shop within five minutes walk around the corner, which has food and every day supplies, and is open late for anyone arriving on a late flight.
There is also a Sainsbury's nearby which can either be reached by Bus, or by going for a 15 minute Walk down the road.

To get into Norwich, there's the 24/24A Busses, which leave roughly every 15 minutes from either Spinny Road (just outside the Cottage Pub) or Thunder Lane, both of which are a couple of minutes walk from the bungalow. A round trip (2 trip) Ticket costs £4.30, or if you are two adults traveling together you can get a "High 5" ticket for £8 together. The journey into the city takes about 20 minutes.

Food-Wise, there are at least two excellent options within a couple of minutes walk from the bungalow. One of them is the Thailand Restaurant, which serves some of the best Thai food we've had. They also offer a Take Away if you'd rather take the meal back to the bungalow. The other option is the cozy Pub up the road, called the Cottage, which is a great place to have a meal, or relaxing evening Pint or drink of your choice.
There's many other options within a 5 minute cab ride radius, including an Indian restaurant, or a really good Fish n' Chips shop called the Frying Machine.

As far as airports go, Norwich Airport is the closest option, and is located approx. 30 minutes distance by car (depending on traffic) from the bungalow.

I'd also like to express a big thank you and compliments to Aileen, who was very helpful in answering all our questions, made us feel very welcome, and made sure that all our needs were taken care of.

This property is a great choice for a trip with friends, or for a family with children (even small children), and we would certainly look forward to booking another stay here in the future.

Myself & my family had a fantastic holiday, the weather was good & to come back to a lovely bungalow with such a fantastic relaxing garden was great & made our holiday.

Applegarth was being like home from home it had all the facilities which you required. The kitchen equipment was 1st class, the beds were comfortable & the garden was peaceful & secure. My grandchildren spent lots of time in the garden they loved it.

It was in a great location between Norwich & Gt Yarmouth giving you complete access to lots of places to go & things to do. All the information leaflets provided in the bungalow were very useful for places to go & places to eat out or have takeaway.

The access to the wifi, Internet & things like Netflix & other channels were good but it would have been nice to have normal TV in the evening when the grandchildren were asleep.

I would like to thank Aileen for letting us stay in her lovely home & would hope to return next year.
