We were in town to for a long weekend with a small group. Hotel Metro is great! We enjoyed the retro/metro design of the rooms and the great staff from check in to check out. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast during our stay and the food was better that many other places in this area. I found this hotel a very good value . Our room was large and the bedding was very comfortable. This hotel is in a good location to get to other parts of the city. I will definately stay here again on my next visit to Milwaukee.

I've stayed at the Pfister several times, so decided to try the nearby Metro for a change. The rooms are very big. The big bathtub right in the middle of the room gets your attention but seems kinda silly for business travel. And I have trouble believing that that many people come to downtown Milwaukee for a romantic getaway.

Good points
Convenient downtown location
Heat lamp in sink area
Good selection of snacks
Good breakfast service in dining room

Not so good
HVAC fan would not shut off, so ran entire night which I found annoying
Poorly designed shower apparatus, angle of water flow was awkward
Alarm clock went off at maximum volume at 6 a.m.
Inconvenient locations for electrical outlets

Thank you for the review JC2! It sounds as if you stayed in a Spa Suite, our open concept room with a jacuzzi tub. Although we do have a lot of couples and newlyweds during the weekend, I think in the future, a Deluxe Suite would be the most suiting for you when traveling for business. I'd love if you gave us another chance to exceed your expectations! We are currently in the process of updating our bathrooms and showers as well. We hope to see you soon!

Member of the Preferred Hotel group. Great location within walking distance of Art Museum of Milwaukee, Discovery World, Water Street attractions. Hotel was clean. Art deco design was disjointed - subtle in the lobby, taken to the extreme in the hallways and rooms with teal and peach. Our room was large and laid out well. No fireplace in our room. Bathroom was large with a very small corner shower. Heating unit in our room banged a night. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was fine. Would stay here again if in Milwaukee.

Thank you for your recent review bmaDC! Our unique interior is a product of the late Madame Kuony, who was very passionate about both French design and French cuisine. Most everything through out the hotel is custom made and one of a kind. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Close to all river, lake front and water street attractions, near great paces to eat. Large rooms, unique stlye, large bath room only draw back was small corner prefab shower stall which was out of place for otherwise well designed space. Hepful staff. At night hotel bar is hopping, restaurant is charimg but food average so I would go to other place if hungry. Good value for 150 dollar weekend rate.

Rates were extremely reasonable and my room was spacious, well-appointed and I loved the soaking tub and the in-room fireplaces. PLUS, the staff was extremely helpful. What a treat! This was my first stay at Hotel Metro. It will not be my last!

I had hopes of some Art Deco design with this hotel. Unfortunately, it needs a little work on the inside. The service and staff was great. The room was large. The pink and sea foam green were a little too much and really is in need of some updates.

We loved this hotel...it is a lovely, historical building with so much charm. The desk staff was very thoughtful and allowed early check-in. The hallways are very clean as are the rooms. The design of the room with the curved wall was very cool; the space felt very modern/comtemporary. We traveled with our 11 year old son and stayed in a King Suite. The soaking tub was a nice surprise and the Aveda products provided were a nice touch. The beds were comfortable and the temperature of the room was easy to control. We enjoyed a nice dinner in the downstairs restaurant; Kelly went out of her way to make certain our son was offered kid friendly food. When we stay here again, I would request a room which faces Mason Street; as our room had a direct view of the parking garage next door. In addition, the hot tub and sauna were great; I only wish we had gone during a time when Zen on Seven was open...The rooftop was such a neat space...I'll bet it's a great time during the season.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room or room facing Mason Street.

Thank you so much, Sturgis Family! We love to hear feedback such as yours! We can't wait to have you again. Please know that Zen on 7 will be open every Thursday starting in June (with the exception of 2) and on Friday & Saturdays, when there is not a private event. But in the spring and summer, you are more than welcome to hang out up there and read a book, drink your coffee, etc. See you soon!
