We went here because our son recommended it. Saturday night around 5:30 we were a group of 5 and were seated right away upstairs. The place is really good size and a cool vibe. We started with 2 orders of peel N eat shrimp, a dozen oysters and fried green tomatoes - everything was delicious and we ate every single drop. Caesar salad, crab and corn chowder, jambalaya, catfish and brisket with greens - everything was WONDERFUL. Corn bread was super good - would've been better if it was warm but it was still outstanding. $200 before tip with drinks - worth every penny! We'll definitely be coming back when we're in the area!!! Thank you Sylvia for your outstanding service!!! You're a gem!

This is a great find for Happy Hour! It includes oysters and shrimp and fried green tomatoes! Plus you've gotta' try their specialty mac and cheese! And good deals on specialty drinks!

It was really busy last Saturday night. I wanted to try Maxies because of their vegetarian options. We were seated rather quickly. We had the lemonade, it was delicious. They serve sweet cornbread, it would have been better served warm. Our server was very friendly. The tofu buffalo chicken was spicy, but really good. I had the vegetarian jambalya. It was prepared well. The portions are huge. Its a great place to visit with family and friends.

I have never had a bad meal at Maxie's. The ambiance is fun and the service is wonderful. I'm a huge fan of their grits. I'm not going to compare Maxie's to traditional Southern food, so you'll just have to come try it yourself.
