Very nice museum in a fabulous building. Lots of history about the city and the general area. Natural as well as cultural history. The place is even bigger than it looks from outside! Good for all ages.

Our daughters had a great time at this museum. There is a lot of local heritage and flavor. Our kids particularly liked the Civil War section of medical horrors!

50 years ago I visited this museum regularly. Chief Oshkosh’s headdress and the Apostles Clock were the main attractions for me. Well in 1994 there was a fire and significant water damage and the museum closed for a couple years.
Today it is a modern museum in the sense that it offers current technology to view some exhibits but also does a magnificent job of taking you back in history to show you many facets of life in Oshkosh a hundred or more years ago.
Yes The Apostles Clock is still keeping time and displays its wonderful figurines every hour. And I’m told the headdress is in storage and will reappear some day. A must to see when in the Fox Valley area.
