Having lived in the Chicago area for 30 years and eaten well over 1,000 pizzas in dozens of pizzarias there, I figure that I can consider myself an expert on Chicago-style pizza. We ordered a hand thrown pizza with sausage and onions. Service was fast and friendly. Sausage was good, onions were sliced (the way they should be for a Chicago pie) albeit a bit tired and too strong. Sauce was pretty good, not sweet like some. The biggest problem was the massive chunk of dough that served as a crust edge on this pizza. Way too much of it and was just weird. The crust wasn't flavorful enough to bother with all that extra and of course, it's not remotely Chicago-style. Probably should have tried the thin crust, but this review is for what I actually ate. The restaurant itself is in an old house, nothing special, likes lots of hole in the wall pizzerias, but clean. They had crushed red pepper and parmesan cheese on the table, so points for that. The way they wrapped the leftovers was hilarious. Pizza was stacked up on a thin paper plate with plastic wrap on over it. Kinda like leftovers from your Mom's, only she would double up on the paper plates! Over all, good for Wisconsin pizza but nothing to go far out of your way for.
