We had a mini-family reunion with family coming from Washington state and northern California to visit us in Michigan. Since we were planning to go to Door County, Wisconsin anyway, friends highly recommended a side trip to the House on the Rock. We took the 3-part tour and spent two days to thoroughly enjoy the property and gardens and were so grateful we did. It really is impossible to try to describe everything you will see and experience. The engineering marvel of the house is only a part of what is offered.

This is a one of kind attraction in the middle of winding roads in Wisconsin. It is an experience that can not be seen anywhere else. Do all 3 parts.

What an extraordinary place to visit and learn all about Alex Jordan and what he did to make this house so special. You will be truly amazed at all the innovative things he was a part of. The house is a very unique and different type of place to visit.

Wear your comfortable shoes. There is lots of walking and some of it is steep. This is a one of a kind attraction but it almost needs to have a follow up visit. There is so much to see that you miss a lot the first time. It is hard to describe to others but worth a visit if you are in the area.

Alex Jordan had an eclectic sense of taste. The house is built into the side of a mountain with the rock side making up part of the wall. Duck through twisting passages to view stained glass windows, tiffany inspired lamps, antique mechanical.
