We booked a room here for the week of Airventure in Oshkosh and drove the 30 miles each day. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was fairly clean and just a little out dated. They do need to replace these beds as they were very uncomfortable, but tolerable. With that aside the room was acceptable to us, and they staff tried their best to provide good customer service. The breakfast was good (average) and well stocked. I was looking forward to the spa all week but it was luke warm at best (the staff tried to turn up the temp. but no luck). For the right price we would stay here again, but for less money (under $100/night) the Best Western at Portage (we stayed one night there) was far nicer and worth the extra drive.

Stayed: July 2017

We stayed here for two nights. Have family in the area, plus we were going down to the Brewers game. First of all it was hard to get ahold of them in the morning, it rang and rang and rang, we were about to give up when the lady answered and said she was in charge of breakfast also, need an answering machine. The lady taking our reservation was very friendly. When we got there, we find out the pool is closed. We were staying there with two teenage grandchildren, this was part of the plan to keep us all busy. Would have been nice to know that at the time we made reservations. Then our room door lock, was not working, it was not ready keys, we needed to have new keys made twice, plus you had to pull it really hard when you inserted your key, then push extremely hard to open (we apologize to our neighbors, for the noise, when we got back from the ballgame ). Then the second morning, since we got back late we slept in abit, went out for breakfast at 9:30(the posted sign said breakfast 6:00 to 10:00 a.m. Daily) the attendant had the waffle batter emptied and was cleaning up the iron? Hmmmm, when asked her she said well breakfast is done at 9. We said the sign says 10, "ya, I don't know why it says that", those are weekend hours. Change the sign please, we aren't mind readers. It was just the final straw for us. The staff was all pretty friendly, but we will not go back.

We stayed here 3 nights to attend the air show in Oshkosh. We paid a lot more than the price showing here on Tripadvisor. I felt it was way overpriced. The room was ok, relatively clean, mediocre beds, lumpy pillows. Hot tub was broken. Breakfast was typical of the FREE breakfast offered at most hotels. Fruit would have been nice. My only major complaint was a "misunderstanding?" with the housekeeper. She asked how everything was in our room, and did we need anything. We said everything was fine. Well, she never gave us any services after that. No clean towels, did not make the beds. Nothing. I mentioned to the very nice lady at the front desk, and she was kind enough to bring us some fresh towels. They do have a small, stacked washer and dryer which was handy, but almost always busy.

Overall our recent stay was ok. Positives - I found all of the staff to be friendly. One bed was comfortable. Things were reasonably clean even if old. Negatives - the biggie for us is we thought we were booking a 2-bedroom suite with jetted tub, with TWO KING BEDS. This is what the website says. We thought it was a great deal and decided to splurge a little while away for two nights so my husband and I could enjoy a bedroom to ourselves and our teen daughter could have her own space. What we got was a hotel room with a king bed, and a tiny extra room just big enough for a pull-out couch. Not at all the same as a second king bed, and not comfortable unless you like the feeling of a bar at your hips the whole night. We asked about it, and the person at the desk said no, we don't have any rooms with two kings, in fact that's the only room with two rooms. Had we known this ahead of time, we would have gotten a room with two queen beds so all could be comfortable. We could not switch because of the way my husband had reserved the room. (???) Anyway, this was disappointing and the website is clearly wrong and needs to be fixed! Other negative - the little slivers of soap immediately break apart as soon as you try to wash your hands or use it in the shower.
The pool looked nice, we didn't get a chance to use it as we were busy with a tournament. Breakfast was adequate.

Room Tip: All seem fairly quiet. I don't think there is an elevator? Only 2 floors but if you don't want to do stairs ask for 1st floor.

If you enter the AmericInn of Waupun into your GPS, e.g., Google, et al, it's likely to direct you to this... run-down establishment; which is NOT the AmericInn. A few weeks ago we were headed to the AmericInn at Waupun and the GPS took us to Boarders. We immediately phoned the AmericInn and got directions for the few blocks away from Boarders to get to the right facility! Looking at the minimal signage and peeling paint / drab appearance of Boarders, you know immediately that you're not at the AmericInn.
I recommend the AmericInn - without reservation [no pun intended].

Room Tip: Stay Elsewhere
