We enjoyed a 14 person business/social dinner in Crawdaddy's private meeting room on a Thursday night. I had been to the prior edition of the restaurant and liked this physical facility much better: less crowded and noisy, very clean, decorated beautifully. Not too much parking with a small lot at the building's east end, but lots of safe on-street parking nearby. The food was wonderful: Crawtails, Calamari, Cajun Firesticks (chicken) and gator chunks were all devoured with gusto and praised by all. The sour dough bread was dense, but soft and tasty. Entree's were all great and captured New Orleans style including eggplant stuffed with shrimp and crawfish, blackened salmon and catfish, duck, steak Diane, Jambalaya and blackened scallops. The accompanying carrots were amazingly sweet. Desserts were out of this world including pecan pie, creme brulee, fried bread pudding and a variety of flavored ice cream desserts. Price for all this was quite reasonable. Our server, Sandy was unbelievable and one of the friendliest, most knowledgeable and efficient individuals I've ever encountered. She handled drinks and food for our whole group and answered all our many questions authoritatively. She clearly loves her job. Somehow she got all 14 entree's out to us simultaneously and piping hot, as well as all the drinks and apps. Despite this, she kept up a running commentary with many of our group. All in all it was a wonderful night. The new Crawdaddy's clearly has gotten its feet squarely underneath it and is now producing the kind of Cajun food that has been missing in the Milwaukee area area since the original version of this restaurant was shuttered.
