Almost didn't make it out of here. Excellent exhibits. The interpretive information and the docents were great. I liked the Glock exhibit.

I'm not much of a gun enthusiast, but my husband is. The Firearms Museum is currently being rebuilt. There's a good exhibit in one hall and more guns scattered through the rest of the Buffalo Bill Center of the West for people to see while the main Firearms Museum is rebuilt. There's a particular emphasis on Winchester rifles.

This collection is considered the largest in the United States and is a treasure in this museum which is part of the Buffalo Bill Cody Museum in Cody, Wyoming. Most of the collection is downstairs in the basement and there are guns of all types and many are from famous persons as well. All the pieces are displayed in great display cases and have identifying placards to tell about each gun.

Though I do not own any guns, I found this an interesting place to visit as part of my visit to the Buffalo Bill Center. There are guns on display from several centuries.

There also was an explanation that the Museum is being redone. I'd check ahead of time to see what portion of this museum is open if it is of particular interest.

Overall, I think that the Buffalo Bill Center is very much a visit - this is one of 5 different museums within the Center.
