We were made very welcome on arrival and given a guided tour of our very large suite. Everywhere was very clean and the fridge was full of food for breakfast including delicious homemade muffins. The Belle Vue is a great place to tour the Kona area of Big Island or to just sit back, relax and admire the fantastic view.
I just wish we could have had at least another couple of nights there.

Aloha Viviene,

Stayed four amazing days in the Rose Garden Suite - the whole works with a fridge full of goodies including homemade muffins. We had bought groceries in Kona and found out later that there was no oven. Our host allowed us to come up and use hers with no fuse. Excellent place for grilling and enjoying the view with loved ones...the suite comes equipped with several board games for those late nights! Central location but is a drive to the beaches.

Mahalo for a great experience,
Cam & Britt

My family stayed in the Rose Garden Suite. We arrived to find a fridge full of local fruit, fresh muffins, cereal, juice and milk. Great to see after 15 hours of travel.
Viviene the host was always asking if we needed more or if we were ok with everything. In fact, her husband even went out of his way to get bananas for my daughter because their own tree wasn't ripe at the moment.
If you stay here keep in mind that there will be other guests around and so will the family that lives there. No noise was ever loud enough to disrupt my 10 days at all.
The loudest thing you will hear are the birds in the mornings and the occasional, distant rooster cry. Our living area was very clean top to bottom. The table on the lanai was great for coffee and breakfast in the morning. There is a washer and dryer on site. It costs $4.00
to do a load. Water and electric aren't cheap there so I don't mind. Plus it beats trying to go find a more expensive laundry somewhere down the road where you have to sit and wait for 2 hours. There is a drying rack in the suite that you can move outside if you choose not to use the dryer($2.00 less). Here you can start it and enjoy the view or take a hillside nap.
The location is removed from many of the attractions and will require a short to moderate drive to get anywhere. Just up the hill is a good grocery store and cheaper than the ones in Kona. Cooking will save you lots of money. The kitchen area in the suites have only two burner electric so don't expect to make a grand meal. They do have propane grills to use as well. This is plenty of option for your cooking needs while on vacation. The Belle Vue seems to be a popular spot for foreign travelers so expect to meet some cool, fun people while you are there. All in all this is one of the best places we ever stayed and plan on making many trips back until we get our butts moved there.
Aloha!

We were headed back to Kona from Volcano National Park due to rain and had no hotel room set up for that night. We searched Bed and Breakfasts and called Belle Vue. Normally places don't rent to people for one night, but we got lucky and Vivienne had space available. We stayed in a lower level suite with a nice patio and view of the bay. The refrigerator was stocked with food for breakfast and the kitchen included a stove, microwave, and all plates, cups, silverware, etc. it was a little humid in our room since there is no central air and there were quite a few bugs and a gecko, but that was my only grievance.

We have stayed three times since January 2011 in Kona Bellevue's two of the three cottage suites. Each time it was a marvelous experience, especially due to warmth of Viviane's personality. Also the cottages are decorated tastefully with Hawaiian-French Provence's flair. The views of ocean and mountain depicted on her website are real and spectacular, especially when sun is reflecting off the ocean surf.. Occasionally one can see a hang glider floating down from the mountain to the plains near the ocean. Viviane has installed two bird feeders on her lawn where one can be entertained by the tropical birds descending for an undisturbed breakfast. I love to cook and Viviane has provided a well equipped kitchen that I can take advantage of the local produce and ocean fish and grass fed beef steaks. One can visit two Hawaiian historical places, which are managed by National Park Service and several State managed parks on the beaches and in the mountain. The volcano national park is only 85 miles from Bellevue. Bellevue offers the best value for the nightly rate and is located near several decent restaurants and supermarket.
