The service was not overly attentive, yet responsive. We chose the ahi and the lobster, both delicious. The ambiance was very relaxing, as we were gently lulled by the sweet strings of a ukelele player and the always present tradewinds. Our guests were absolutely astounded by the postcard Hawaiian sunset. All in all, a very pleasant evening in Waimea, Hawaii.

Our dinner was nice with the most beautiful views of the sunset and we enjoyed it very much. I would recommend their fish and chips and grilled local catch of the day. We were not crazy about ahi poke and definitely not the sugar cane shrimp. They were kind of sad. Nice cocktails and our 4 year old ate for free.

Nice spot for casual dining right on the ocean at the Fairmont Orchid. Set in the sand and under thatched umbrellas, service can be a bit tedious but food is really good for what it is. Nice lobster salad, pineapple fried rice, blackened fish sandwich, seared fish tacos, kahlua pig sandwiches and several entrees and pizza. Take a short walk directly in front toward the beach and see the giant manta rays swimming under the spot lights at night.

The beachside dining was casual but elegant. The restaurant is set up in the sand to make it "really beachy". The food was really good and the atmosphere is wonderful. The evening breeze makes the temperature just right. My favorite dish was the lobster fried rice. Wow! We also enjoyed the macadamia nut hummus for the appetizer. It isn't cheap, but remember, you are staying at a luxury resort!
