Upon landing in Kona, we wanted fresh, yummy food. Strawberry Patch delivered just what we wanted in a homey environment. My husband had a daily special, a chicken pesto sandwich and crunchy taro chips, along with a fresh lemonade that he loved. I had the beet salad, which tasted absolutely delicious. I loved that it even had flowers sprinkled on top. Service was good and it didn't take long to get our food, either. I highly recommend this place!

We stopped for lunch on our way from Kona Airport to Volcano on Wednesday and were very pleased with our food. The turkey Reuben was particularly good and the salads were fresh and very good size. The passion guava ice tea was delicious but unfortunately they ran out so we couldn't get any refills. Service was very pleasant (our waitress was very nice) although a bit on the slow side. Atmosphere was nice at the outside tables but the road noise was a bit load, especially when the trucks were going by. A good choice if you're headed toward Volcano from Kona for lunch. Lunch menu does change daily.

A modest restaurant with immodest prices, though only moderate for Hawaii. Why a tropical island with lush gardens should charge so much for food is beyond me. Tropical fruit like pineapple costs more on the islands, by far, than it does on the mainland. Food at the Patch is unremarkable, but the value is relatively good, considering the prices at most local restaurants. Delivery is on the slow side. Staff is pleasant and tries to be helpful. Bottom line, one has to eat somewhere, and here is likely to be less expensive than elsewhere.

Recommended by a local, the four of us tried this restaurant on a Thursday night, our first night on the island. It was not crowded that night, but there was only one waiter. Four meals were ordered. It took over 30 minutes for the first two meals to be served. The second two meals came 15 minutes later. Very difficult to have a shared dining experience. The food was great though.

We stopped for lunch not knowing anything about the restaurant. What a great find! Lunch was great, food was very different with international menu and very pleasant service. Highly recommend.
