We stayed here for our first week of our Honeymoon. DO NOT GO DURING CHRISTMAS OR NEW YEARS, unless you rent a car well in advance! :-| We made the mistake of trying to get a car a month in advance not knowing that the holiday/new year time is their HIGHEST season and the whole island is rented out for cars. Other than that, the location is awesome and central to everywhere if you have a car. If you don't have a car, there is a shuttle to this area so you can bring your family and NOT rent a car. This resort area covers every need you and your kids would possibly need. There was/is a wine bar (haven't been in years) where the bartender was a phenomenal young lady who helped us all week and was very welcoming and open to us. She drove us around on her day off, because that's the island personality i guess! We love her and would love to see her again and say thanks for all her help. If she's still there, tell her she is highly recommended. She also helped us through her connection get a car (after her pulling all her strings for 3 days!) I can't wait to go back!

P.S. Only one bad experience with an big island BIG cockroach, so that is also a good plus! ; - )

We stayed for 5 nights. It was great. The views were wonderful, The room was newly updated. We only had 4 adults, but the 2 bedroom could easily sleep 8 (4a, 4c). The hotels has grills outside for cooking out. But the restraunts close at 6 on the property.
The hotel didn't offer many events like the Hilton Waikoloa Village (HWV), but it had multiple pools and golfing close by. If you want a hotel to be a little more low key, but close to the action then this is it. The HWV is in walking distance or a 5 minute shuttle ride.

We have often tvacationed at the Bay Club thru RCI. Recent updates to interiors, exterior facelifts, landscaping and water features create a great Hawaii getaway. The resort is managed by Hilton and shares facilities with the adjacent Hilton Grand Vacation Club. The resort offers nightly Happy Hour, live music and $5 drinks. Helpful staff have the "Aloha Spirit". Shopping and the beach are a short walk or free shuttle ride away, but a rental car is a must to enjoy the unique environment of the Big Island.

We stayed here as an option from our normal Hilton Club location, and it was a nice place but not the nicest I have ever stayed in. It has been recently remodeled so the rooms were nice. The master bedroom was quite large with a nice large master bath. We fit our sons crib in here easily. The second bedroom was okay size with a smallish bathroom. We squeezed a roll away bed in this room, but it was tight. The living areas are nice and large and with an okay sized kitchen. The pools at this club were okay and kind of old. There is a newer one at the other resort right next to it that is small, but nicer. We were able to get a free pass to the King's club resort which has a nice pool and water slide area. We did not try any of the restaurants at the resort as they just didn't look that great to us and we prepared breakfast and sometimes lunch in our condo and ate dinners at area restaurants. All in all it was a good stay the room was large enough for 4 adults and 2 kids.

My wife and I stayed at the bay club. It was a wonderful vacation. We had a full kitchen AND washer and dryer. There was even a grill right outside our room. For the days we didn't eat out, it was relaxing to just grill some steaks and lay out on the lounge chairs on our little patio connected to our living room.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable.

My only complaint is that the hotel wasn't beach front. We just had a view of grass and one of the mountains.
