Good place to stop before you drive up Waimea canyon. The ladies working there are very helpful and will tell you about the area and give you directions.

Great stop for information and restroom break. Local map helps finding neat shops in Wiamea for souvenirs and eating. Old buildings give you a look back in the history of this island. Easy walking about the historical areas.

There is hardly anything there, but the attendant is helpful with ideas of where to eat and what to see.

Excellent summary panels of local history including Captain Cook's first landing and the local sugar history.

After reading all the positive reviews we called for a reservation and were told none was needed, but they don't open until 1PM.
So we went to lunch and arrived at 1:10. Parking lot is on opposite side from the entrance. So you park and then walk around to the entrance. Surprise! The place was locked and lights out, with a sign "we open at 1PM".
Well by 1:30 there was nobody there, we checked all the signs, then phoned. No answer except a recording stating the hours.
Sorry to say we gave up and left after 30 minutes waiting in the hot sun for signs of life.
