We booked Haiku Plantation Inn July for eight days.. this was our first trip to Maui.
It is a relatively picturesque property in Maui's "Up-Country" ... we really like the small towns in this bucolic part of the island. The problem we had is three-fold ...
1) I would not have booked the stay if I knew there would not be AC ... after a hot day on the beach or riding around the island, it is very unpleasant (actually miserable) to return to a hot, humid room - even with windows open it was unbearable for us.
2) During our stay there was no on-site manager, only a 20 year old temp hire from Germany. We had hoped there might be someone to assist us in finding things to do and places to go. No such luck.
3) The "deluxe continental breakfast" was skimpy at best ...
We actually left after day four and moved to another property where the room was cool, food was acceptable and on-site management guided us to where we should go and what we should do.More
