Based on the reviews for this restaurant I was expecting a 4+ star experience - instead I've rated it a 3 star bordering on 2 1/2. The ambience of this restaurant is great. It's located within the Westin in Kaanapali. They ask if you'd like water and based on the bottles they pour it out of you think it wouldn't be tap water, but it is. You have to request spring water to get a purified non-pool smelling water (don't pay more for the spring/purified water!). The 'bread' consists of slim breadsticks with a pesto 'dip' and a butter with sea salt 'dip'. I wasn't impressed with either, neither was my daughter. The food was good, but very, very rich. Very small portion sizes. Minimal to no vegetables with the entrees. You had nothing to cut through the richness of the food (veg, bread, etc...). The Caesar's was whole heart of romaine leaves with dressing mixed in - so you might get the right amount of dressing on on leaf but a HUGE amount on the inside of a curved leaf.
Pros - ambience, service and my daughter really liked her spagetti and 'meatball'.
Cons - lack of bread to cut through the richness of the food, hostesses cared more of their personal life then addressing people waiting, tap water masked as something better, value.
Disclosures: Did not try the pizza! That might be really good.
